4 words are enough reason not to: Because it's a Jeep.

Alternatively: Because FCA made it.
I take it Jeep has a poor quality then? It's like... what brand doesn't except maybe Honda/Toyota. If you want a higher powered SUV so you can still crank by cars on the highway/backroads, but you need room to haul your sh!t and some kids, the other options cost you waaaay more. Of course, does one need 400hp+ for 99% of their driving? Not really....

Like I said I've been extremely lucky so far in that I've never had any major issues with any of my cars.

I'd rather buy a used Chevy Trailblazer SS.

The GC really is a nice ride but I wouldn't own one. The CTS you were pondering is much better quality wise IMHO.

I just heard above that modern cars can make 200k no problem if you take care of it.

You don't seems to get it cost of owner ship of an expensive car.

A MSRP 70k SUV's maintenance/repair parts will cost way more than a 18k eco-box. That same SUV can depreciate to nothing, parts for it will still be expensive. BMW and Mercedes are perfect examples, just because you can buy a pre-own expensive car for penny, the cost of repair/maintenance of a cheap luxurious car will scare most people away. Also, most cars have gone to a "lifetime filled" transmission, and I wouldn't trust them at 200k, specially for a high performance vehicle.

Nah, you just treat them like normal transmissions. Flush/service every 75-100k, just like before.

I would, you would, but would most people? People are not going to do work when the owner manual doesn't call for it. In fact some car doesn't even have a dip stick, the Cherokee is one of them.

That's why you trust a good indie mechanic, and not a stealership.
