Vote for The Last Remnant. Been interested in it for a while, but not for the earlier price. 75% off will make it $7.49.
Ditto. It doesn't get particularly good reviews, but with the dearth of PC JRPGs, I'm willing to try it for $7.50

Other than that, I'm not sure what else I would grab. Doesn't look like Puzzle Quest 2 is going on sale. Steam might be able to tempt me by putting one of the 2K12 sports games up for $5.

Yay, finally bought something! Portal 2 on the flash sale made me break out the 'ole credit card since I missed it earlier in the sale.

Also, since they were sitting in my cart already, I picked up Steller Impact Bundle and Star Ruler.

Indie Bundle VIII actually is kind of tempting for $9.99. I've wanted Sol Exodus for a while, but Demolition Inc., Swords & Soldiers and Wings of Prey all look pretty entertaining too. HOARD seems to be your typical sort of tower defense game, no? Something I could live with. $10... hmm, if I didn't just drop $600 on bulk beef this week (serious, 1/4 of a cow in my freezer) I wouldn't even be "discussing" it. Oh well.

I'd sure recommend GalCiv over Spore, but whatever you prefer. I'd check reviews.

Oh, I don't doubt that, but I've already fulfilled my "space conquest" genre for now with SoaSE:Trinity. I just wanted to check out Spore because of the interesting-sounding evolutionary aspect.

Spore is basically 5 mini-games in one - The only difference is that in Spore you sort of get to build your critter a little bit each time as you go.

The first game can be had for free in the game called Flow (which imho is much better).

The second is your typical "adventure" 3rd person over-the-shoulder type of hack'n'slash game. Think Neverwinter Nights, just not with quests.

The third is a small scale RTS game where you gather resources, build your home base, defend your tribe and kill or be killed.

The next is more city-building RTS on a somewhat more macro-scale (think Civilization) where you're now fighting for the entire world.

And finally, there's the galactic stage, which is more of the same.

My kids like it, it sparks a little creativity out of them. But honestly the stages are too short in my opinion. You can never make anything as intricate as the "premade" critters as you're playing the game - there are far too many constraints to keep your character from becoming too powerful too fast. In concept, it's a nice toy with a shell of a game wrapped around it.

GalCiv otoh is like Civilization in space - it's a completely different beast from Spore all together.

Hasn't ARMA 2 been on sale at least 3 times during the summer sale already?

Realism = pour fire on it and burn myself. Gameplay is an abstract that has nothing to do with real life (ie realism), and realistic games suck (see populations of all the standards (Red Orchestra, et al).

So with my total disdain for 'realism' shooters, has my mind just created ARMA 2 sales, or did they really happen?

not a daily, vote, or flash sale yet.
no one wants it for the base game - they want it for the DayZ mod.

The Last Remnant didn't win. Doubt it is popular enough to go on a daily deal or flash sale either. Guess I'll keep waiting.

Ya I really wouldn't care if it doesn't go lower, I just want to know if it will or not. That's the most annoying thing: buying a game and having the price drop hours later.

You mean you all didn't get ARMA 2 for free back when GreenManGaming was giving it away? *snicker*

Unless the store page says otherwise, no, you can't activate it on Steam.

yeah it uses the capsule program. won't activate on Steam. It would only be $16 if you used the 20% off code but you could also buy it from Steam/Amazon for $16 and still run DayZ. You just need to run both games once and your game changes to combined operations. It's also on Gamerocket for $12.95 but that's a German digital distribution site so I'm not sure how reliable they'll be in the future.

I'm holding out for Steam to mark the game down since I've waited this long already. I might just buy arrowhead on Steam but if the bundle is cheap enough I'll just rebuy it. I can always add on Arrowhead on later and let someone else use my GMG account for a lan party or something.
