Voting for Mirror's Edge. It's an amazing game unlike anything else out there. Holds up really well because of it's art direction and design, and will probably continue to hold up well for years.

original fo3 left such a bad taste in my mouth that I'm a bit reluctant to jump on NV. Is it worth playing if I hated the original FO3 vanilla?

NO. Definitely not. But then I cannot imagine how anyone could possibly not like Fallout 3...

Hopefully it comes back. I have all 5 games. The Sand of Time Trilogy (Sands of Time, Warrior Within, The Two Thrones) is great. I haven't played The Forgotten Sands (movie tie-in) yet. The 2008 game was lots of fun, but like EDUSAN said, it's not related to the other games. I'm hoping that enough people will get into it that they'll make a sequel, but I'm not holding my breath.

To be blunt, it was boring and buggy.

Long ver: color pallet in FO3 was brown on grey on brownish grey. The combat was super easy and super simple and the guns were uninspiring for the most part because you can just auto-shoot everyone to death with headshots. The "openness" of the world played against FO3 because it was a whole lot of boring colors mashed together. There were no memorable locations either, I can barely remember the various places I visited and I played through the whole game just to say I was done with it.

If your directing your post to me... yea...

Well I never used steam and havent had many comp games as I just got a nice big rig 2 months ago. So steam sales are new to me.

yeah...it was to you....

but congratz on all your new games 😛

Fallout NV had much better writing, by Obsidian staff (Fallout 2, KOTOR 2). Your companions actually have personality and their own side-quests.

Combat was more interesting since it had iron sights and you rarely need VATS. The engine keeps it from working quite as well as a real FPS but it's pretty good.

Color palette is still a bit muted but better than FO3.

NV was buggy on launch but after a few patches is very safe to play.

So like every Bethesda RPG ever?

Fallout: New Vegas technically doesn't count because it was actually made by Obsidian, and not Bethesda. I hear it's actually much better than Fallout 3 thouugh, both story-wise and combat-wise, although I haven't played it yet so I can't say for myself.

TN display?

What kind of display would you recommend for getting even more vivid greyish-green and greenish-grey? I must know.

Cave Story - how is it?

It appeals to my nostalgic side, but I'm afraid if I buy it, I'll get bored with it quickly.

I've read nothing but extremely positive things. Eventually broke down and bought it because I felt pressured by all the glowing reviews. 😛 (And, at $2.49, it's just another drop in the bucket.)

If you're the type of person to buy the humble bundles, you might already have it. Cave Story was in HIB 4. That's where I got it.
