HPFP failures were somewhat common even in the gas vehicles audi and vw produced. For our gas varients, they released an extended warranty on them ... 8year 100k or something.

That and the cams

I would love to get a TDI golf if it was 4motion...sadface.

AWD would be nice but it's not a must have for me. My region does get snow several times a winter but it never lasts more than a day at the most. I would prefer RWD but I'll settle for FWD and gooooood mileage.

i'm a former owner of a B5. i think the B5 WAS vw. i thought it looked great, classy, could be sporty if you modded, but wasn't so over the top that it screamed "look at me!"

in many ways, if i could have the B5 with the new 2.0T, i might have gone for that over my genesis coupe. i really, really love the B5 styling.

Every time I look back at my B5.5 in the parking lot I am shocked at how an 11 year old design (or older if you count b5) still looks so good. Definitely a relatively timeless design. I still haven't found a good reason to replace it as my DD/all around vehicle.

I just think the NMS doesn't look bad next to it, or even boring. It looks classy, trim (despite its size) and more modern than the B5. I am more dissapointed by the current engine choices. I am interested in the release of the new 1.8TSI for this car. Should make for great MPG.
