I don't know what it is about the front, but I don't like it. It looks like they took the old front and just stretched the face back.

I didn't care for the new 6 when I first saw them in Car and Driver, but they are growing on me. I love BMWs move to turbo engines. My 135i is fantastic to drive. Full ~300ftlb of torque at 1400rpm makes city driving a pleasure.

They were able to perserve the smoothness that BMW NA inline-6's are renown for.

It looks good, but the new 6 series just seems too huge in person. I was at the dealer this weekend and they had one on the show floor. The car just goes on forever. If I'm going to get that big of a car, I'd rather just get the M5. I really wish they could package this engine into the next M3(4).

I feel the same way. To me, the S5 Audi is already too big, and the M6 dwarfs that in-person as well.

I'm sure it will be a dream to drive, just too big for me. Just because something is a 'grand tourer' doesn't mean it needs to be huge.

Would you guys pick this car for the next transporter movie or would you pick Apex's wife's car?

Its really great that one can now have the option of a luxo barge sized grand tourer with speed to give. While most of us would say a M5 is almost too big dont discount the fact that some people want even more space in the back.

Transporter always has four doors, so it has to be Apex's wife's car.

I thought they said the Grand Tourer version was out this year as well?

If they make an M6 Gran Coupe (the 4-door 6-series), it will be expensive as fuck.

Seriously.

The 6-Series Gran Coupe already carries a $25,000 inflation. A standard 6-Series convertible is $95,000 and can be optioned to $120,000. The Gran Coupe will likely be more expensive. Add in the M-designation on top of this, and you are going to see a price range of $120,000 to $150,000 for an M6 Gran Coupe.

Jesus.

For comparison:

The S63 AMG is $140,000.
The S65 AMG is $211,000.
The CL63 AMG is $152,000.
The CL65 AMG is $211,000.

The CLS63 AMG, arguably the closest in styling to the Gran Coupe, is only $95,000.

In sum, these are not affordable automobiles.
