This is not new. "doomers" have existed pretty much since the beginning of time.

When 2012 comes and goes, they will mull about, talking about the same mundane nonsense.

Beats me. Thats what some of them think though. I went on a rant on the board a while back about how all that stuff is just stupid but they are pretty set in their ways. *sigh* Some people.....

You should start a poll and see how many of them live in trailers too.

Or maybe.... just maybe.... this 2012 hysteria has been drummed up on purpose so people can make money off of it.

There is a lot to be said that the common people would never be let in on the real story if it was known. They'd demand protection and sadly there wouldn't be enough seats on the 'boat'.

It's rumored that all this space commuting and deep sea stuff is the rich looking for a reliable method to get off the planet for a bit and then get back to it and the things they sat aside.

The sad part is like many things our people would gang together to defy it and in masses believe they were right. If Jesus did come to earth, or an alien, we'd call for their deaths and in the end believe it was all make-believe.

I always point out to doomsayers that the world cannot end in 2012....because my credit card doesn't expire until 2013. Helllllooooooo????

Personally, I'm betting on the zombie eating aliens. They'll park in orbit, spread the zombie creating spores throughout the atmosphere, wait for the zombie apocalypse to finish, then come down and stuff themselves. Somehow or other, the squirrels are involved too...... :sneaky:

Yikes. I'm a member of a board on survival/preparedness topics and the 2012 talk was so bad the creator made a separate forum just for them.

All I can say is wow. Polar shifts, asteroids, alien "reptillian" invasions

You forgot the biggest thing of all...

it's my 50th Birthday

The realist thing we have almost guaranteed is increased solar flare activity. This is sort of the big unknown...the worst case scenario is not the end of the earth physically, but if they were to knock out power for 2-3 months.

Even a week without power in a major city is a disaster for law and military to control because opportunists begin raping and pillaging the village.

In any end of the world situation, you are sadly going to first face your neighbors as the enemy rather than as an ally to make it through it together. The tragic part is usually that guy the goes on the offensive first is the most ill-equiped to survive it all.

Yeah. The way I see it the only thing I see happening is the *possible* solar flare activity causing a problem or the 2012 nuts running around causing chaos. It could be a combo a both thought. Solar flare hits, knocks out power and the nutjobs run around screaming and causing panic. I stock supplies and gear as matter of general preparedness. My plan is to "disappear" to a remote area and just chill.

We have a lot of ultra wealthy here that have built fortified homes, literally with panels of steel that lock down and 'private' air supply.

With the economy skewing the uber rich to the masses, they are able to stockpile various provisions and sundries. There was a story on a guy with a warehouse here full of canned goods and water for him and his family. It was an insane amount of cost to the average dude, but some people shit $100,000 and don't even miss it...some $1,000,000.

That's where many just can't wrap their heads around things.

Polar shifts, asteroids, alien "reptillian" invasions, - some of them actually believe that there are 100,000 railroad boxcars with guillotines (yes, guillotines) built into them where "they" (UN, NWO) are going to round up 80% of population and execute us so they can better control the rest.

I really find it sad. I'm just shocked that so many people are in need of a prozac and a shot of whiskey.

Then there was this "special" with Lester Holt that aired talking all about this crap, which now just gives more "credibilty" to all this junk. I would've thought that he would be above doing a show like that, but apparently he's all about cashing in on all this kook-poop. The only thing credible about 2012 I've seen is the high solar flare activity that has been predicted. I really think the only thing that could happen is all the crazies running around could cause more probs than anything else.

Just thought I'd share my dismay with you all.

There really are a lot of looney people out there. Of course, boards like the one you are on definitely attract them like flies to a bug zapper.

Seriously?

Well I am willing to bet many of the sad little men out there that now have armed themselves with total overkill firepower (in the name of home protection of course) will plan their best first move is to take over their own neighborhood.

Maximize their supplies with more than likely the least potential for harm (providing they are living in whole whitebread americana and not somewhere like Compton).

Most of this has been proven in experiments...
