UPDATE 2:
LEAGUES ARE FULL. GOOD LUCK!

League 1:
Drafting Wednesday August 29th at 9:30 EST

League 2:
Drafting Thursday August 30th at 9:30 EST

UPDATE:

We have one 12 team league full, and we have 6 players so far in league two

OP:
I think KeithTalent is out as commissioner, unless he changed his mind. Anyone else want to step up? I'm sure we have enough people interested in at least one league, last year we had two.

Basic settings were PPR auction league with FAAB

Not as commish, but will join the league again. 😀
Absolutely loved auction draft and point per reception last year.
Makes it so much more interesting.

I prefer Yahoo but I have no problem going with whatever the commissioner prefers. Speaking of which....

Who wants the job? Can we elect KT against his will? 😀

I just sent pms to last year's members. I'm sure there will be some spots open, we can aim to have two leagues(12 teams per league).

I know some of us play in both leagues too, so we'll see how many people we get this year.

I'd consider being commish but I don't want to deal with the money. I don't want it in my bank account and paypal isn't very convenient with having a balance that you don't want to use/access. Been there done that.

And is everyone ok with $30 entry fee?

Here are the full settings. Probably in a terrible layout

Thanks for taking the reigns here slayer. Any thoughts on draft date? I will be off the continent for a couple of weeks in August, so would like to work around that somehow.

I don't mind helping out with managing or handling the money or whatever. I can only help with managing if it's on ESPN though since Yahoo is blocked here.

Just FYI those thinking of joining: the general game rules are similar to most PPR leagues (scoring and rosters) but it will be an auction and we will be using FAAB. The main questions on the FAAB that people may want to discuss, since some people did not like it last year are:

1. Should minimum bids for free agents be $1 (what we used last year) or should we allow $0 bids so people who run out of dough aren't completely hosed?
2. Last year we only processed free agent acquisitions twice during the week (Wednesday and Saturday at Noon), with acquisitions being locked at all other times. So, say you have someone on a bye one week and you only put in one bid for a replacement, but someone else outbids you for that one guy, then you are stuck with the guy on a bye in that slot. It just means you need to put in bids for multiple players in the order you would want them to ensure you have someone to fill that slot. Alternatively we can change it so players not picked up with FAAB on the Saturday, will just go to a free agent pool until game time.

Sorry for the long post, just wanted bring those up for discussion as they seemed to be the biggest points of differentiation from some players' other leagues.

🙂

I won't play because I don't like to play for money, but just as input from an impartial long-time FFL'er:

1) I would think you'd either have to allow $0 transactions or find some way to re-allocate a portion of the salary of players dropped mid-season. If a player's salary is permanent/fully-guaranteed then an injury to a "star" would effectively end an owner's season. With "free" transactions or salary refunds an injury is still devastating but an owner at least has a prayer of clawing back with shrewd moves and chance.
2) Given that a flavor-of-the-week player might garner lots of waiver attention and an enterprising owner could bid on unwanted players in an effort to sabotage owners I would suggest having a free-for-all signing period after waivers. Set the waiver deadline on Wednesday to account for the Thursday games and make Thursday-Kickoff of other games open season. The alternate would be to set a Wednesday waiver date and a Friday waiver date to help even out the impact of the Thursday games and leave Saturday-Kickoff as open season.

I'm open to most days so if people can post what days they would prefer, weekend/weeknight, times/time zones etc we can try to narrow it down. The season starts Wednesday Sept. 5th so I think we should try to be drafted by the weekend before. That's 5 weekend options. I forget if last year's drafts were weekend or weeknights.

With free agents, I liked last year's system, I think it adds a lot of strategy. But I think some people thought it was too much? Whatever the group wants.

I'll join if room. Im in a league from last year called Keep This!, but im not sure if that was KT's league or not. But either way ill join if room.

That's 12, a full league. I think we should be able to fill two. Count me in for both leagues(unless we don't have room).
