2012 - Anyone truly think world is ending?

After a recent debate with one of the members on this board, I thought I would open this up to everybody.

Is there anyone out there who truly believes that the world is going to end, or some massive catastrophe will occur?

Why do people think the world will end in 2012? Because of a movie?

the world isnt going to end but its over for the us. americas "prosperity" is built on spending money it didnt have. the us is a cheater and a fraud and the whole world knows it now. the us should have been downgraded a decade ago. the only real power the us has is the military power it is imposing on weaker nations around the world. but even that will wane as the us goes down in economic flames

I'm looking forward to that date. It will be exciting. Kinda like Y2K, anticipating what is going to happen. I don't believe in any of these scheduled doom and gloom dates, but it's still fun to just sit back and watch to see what happens as far as what people do and what not. I think 2012 will be bigger than Y2K though, like I think there actually will be stuff that happens, but it will all be human made. Riots, possibly terrorist attacks, that kinda thing. Probably best to stay indoors that day and have done the groceries ahead of time. Or, maybe it will be a completely normal day like any other. I'm actually leaning more towards that.
