Islanders have picked up their play at least. Had a couple of good opportunities right before the break.

I so hate the Islanders

1) because I hate all the old Patrick div teams
&
2) I was at game 7 of the second round in 93 when they took that series.

Edit: Islanders score. They definitely aren't giving up.

I like to watch that clip of the game from a few years ago, you know, the fight game, even though the pens lost that one.

I don't know, looked to me like his head is twisting to the right already when his shoulder is hit. That would indicate that the head was hit first.

Did you happen to watch the TSN video I posted? They all could be wrong but out of all of those guys no one thought it was a bad hit.

i watched the first 2 periods of the caps game then had to go to my football game, so i dvr'ed the rest of it and made sure not to listen to the radio and told people not to tell me about it.

just finished watching the game and holy crap what an exciting ending! and damn, both goalies were insanely good today. the caps pk team is what won the game for them. the islanders had some huge opportunities during the power play later in the game to score on one.

the caps got a lucky break for sure with the refs not calling that one delay of game penalty, because it clearly didn't touch the glass. only thing i can think is that it was totally incidental because he was kind of fanning his stick to block the puck and it bounced off of it and went out of play. it wasn't like he tried to clear it and it went out.

That's a rule that I've been wishing the NHL would revise for years. It goes beyond the intent of the rule and punishes players who try to clear a bouncing puck.

They also need to change the rule on kicked goals, because the way they interpret it doesn't match what's in the rule book. If a fan can't be pretty confident about the way it's going to be ruled after seeing a replay, then the rule probably needs to be revised.

another great game for the caps... their hot play is continuing

on the delay of game...the "official" ruling was that it was deflected out by alzner, and not shot out... imho it should have been a penalty, but there were a lot of blown calls and this just tops that list

I know people are bashing Fleury but the only goal that may have been his fault was the one he scored himself. He faced 42 SA. 20 of them were in the first period alone. From second period on the pens got dominated and could not win any battles along the wall. Malkin must have turned over that puck 6 or 7 times trying to do that stupid little pass hoping someone was behind him to take it. Malkin only seems to play well when his whole line is one ice. With James Neal out Malkin production takes a dive.

The power play is better with Crosby out and Iginla in. Iginla has a better slap shot and creates better chances then the stupid passes that Crosby wants to do.
