Question, why is it some games on GamersGate provide code that can be activated/downloaded through Steam? I see NFS The Run on sale at GG but I am not sure if I can download via Steam. Did a search on Steam for NFS but did not see The Run available, safe to say it's not available thru Steam?

Those games you can activate on Steam are Steamworks games, meaning that no matter where you buy the PC version of that game it requires Steam to run (there are few exceptions of a game being able to activate on Steam but not be a Steamworks game).

NFS The Run is not a Steamworks game. No EA games use Steamworks, but you can register NFS The Run on Origin (EA's digital service) if you use that, or can just download from where you bought it.

Play the demo that's available, but it's basically an FPS in the spirit of the older games like Quake and Doom. Fast paced run 'n gun in other words.

Bought it since I've been waiting for it to go on sale for $5.
