Pointless arguing about this, really.
c'mon...do you think that's held us back before?

it looks nothing like a corolla
it's like saying all asian people look the same
that corolla still looks nothing like it
lol, that doesn't look bad if that is how it will really turn out. Stick a VR6 in that bad boy, and I would buy it.
So wait... wasn't the Jetta one of hte most unreliable VW cars out there? Does this mean things will improve? Sigh I really want a GTI, but I have people telling me left and right about maintenance. That's something I really don't want to deal with. The first 36k might be fine, but after that I really don't know.
I have an 07 GLi, which is pretty much a Jetta w/Turbo. I've had 3 minor issues with my car; none that really bug me much.
Rear right brake light keeps blowing - I've put 2 new bulbs in the 2 and quarter years I've owned it.
Had the shift-linkage snap off. (Fixed under warranty.)
Have a weird vibration when I put load on the engine on really hot days (90 degree days) when I push the car. At first I thought it was the clutch, but I am leaning towards a problem on the drivers front wheel + steering. I could never figure it out, and it is so rare, that it could never be replicated by the dealer.
you have to be blind to think the MK5 looks anything like a corolla
just blind
It looks like a Honda Civic family had a baby with a Toyota Corolla and then that kid married a three series BMW or better yet, a 1 series. D:
No friend, that's the A4 rear, which is not very surprising at all considering it's a glorified Jetta...The rear screams E90/92 3 series... Especially that trunk wit the taillights and license plate placement. Looks almost exactly like the E90 sedan trunk.
Looks like the current model with a mild face lift. Tail lamps are BMW'ish.
