Honestly, the EVO meets my needs, not sure what I'd use a dual core phone for...

If I had one wish, it would be for decent battery life...

No plans to change my 3GS. Does everything I want it to do and I enjoy using it a lot. I wouldn't mind if my battery life doubled or tripled though ;)

Targeting a dual core device, with some kinda of 4G. Depends on the cost of the 4G and the penetration in my area. My city is a launch location for Verizon's LTE, for what its worth.

I am in mobile telecom consulting so I always try to stay current with the technology.
That being said, I am looking to go 4G in 2011 but the device is yet to be determined. I may keep my Droid X and go Android tablet depending on what comes out.

I see nothing announced that tempts me. I finally have my phone configured and customized to my liking. I'm happy with Tmobile and happy with my current phone.

I think Android OS needs to improve more than the phones. Gingerbread is a disapointment.

I plan on upgrading to a dual core once my upgrade is available in June, preferably for something that's similar in size to my evo but who knows of Sprint will get a phone like that out by June.

Same here. I'm more interested in network speed improvements and battery life improvements at this point.

I voted no plan to upgrade. I'm waiting until my contract is up in another year. By that time both AT&T and Verizon will have more mature LTE networks and I can pick and choose who I want. Assuming things fall into place Apple should have an iPhone out for Verizon already and I can pick and choose between not just AT&T and Verizon but still have an option to stay with iOS or move to Android.

Whatever they replace the EVO with. I love my EVO and don't really need anything new but I get an upgrade every year so I may as well get something. 4G would be nice and I'll revisit that subject in 2012 or so when Verizon gets LTE up an running around here. I know Sprint will be years before WIMAX get's here, in fact I'm betting Sprint switches to LTE before then.

Because Verizon screwed me I will be stuck with them until November of 2011. I dont know what I will be getting but it darn sure wont be on Verizon.

Maybe going to WP7 since it will have been out a year and many issues should be fixed.

Probably sticking with the Evo. It has the features that I want, and I can deal with the battery life. So far, nothing that I've seen announced is worth paying an ETF, selling the phone, and signing a new contract.

Some kind of dual-core Verizon phone. I'm sure most will be 4G even though I'd be okay with 3G.

Definitely not going to be getting 9-month old iPhone 4 tech when it hits VZW, though.

This. Besides, my area isn't getting 4G for quite some time yet. I don't really care too much about dual core phones right now either.

none of your options apply to me

TBH the ONLY thing i care about in a new phone is that it can be rooted with an unlocked boot loader so i can rom it. none of the other specs matter to me

if one doesn't come out in 2011 then ill wait till 2012

edit: has to work on Verizon

id love to upgrade my phone, but the poll choices are too generalized. vzw is likely losing me as a customer in feb, but my "new every 2" was up last november. im just not that impressed with android yet, and so far wp7 doesnt do some things i need it to do. so, i hold on with my old phone for a while and hope something catches my eye later.

Nope, happy with my cheapo "dumb" phone.

May change my mind since I plan on getting a Playbook if it doesn't flop, and if I somehow decide I need a tether just for shits and giggles.

A new HTC 4G Sprint phone is supposedly coming out next month with a slide-out keyboard that I'm eyeing. I really want a new phone as I'm done with my current phone cus it's really buggy and slow. It gets data lock-ups randomly and GPS takes forever to lock and battery life is worse than even the Epic/Evo.

http://www.engadget.com/2010/12/11/htc-evo-shift-4g-knight-speedy-gets-leaked-picture-january/

Im eyeing up that too. Im still on a Pre, love WebOS, but my 1 year upgrade is burning a hole in my pocket since July. The Evo and Epic are way too big for me and hopefully with the newer phones coming out the battery life is increased. Im waiting to see what HP/Palm puts out at CES. If nothing for Sprint arises from them, i'll switch to a 4G Android.

metropcs moving to 4G, has 90% of population covered for talk/text, and I pay $30/month including taxes.

Not going to get 4G on that $30, but I don't care. I DO need a dual core smartphone with 1GB of ram. Too much swapping back and forth going on when I multitask like crazy on my Motorola Droid.

I'm probably going to upgrade within 3 months. Sure, I'm fine with the incredible but I like getting new phones. :p

Interested to see if the iPhone is coming to VZ and also what dual core phones will be hitting as well.
I'd much prefer if the iPhone would be an updated model but i don't know how likely that will be.
