Watched the curling match today. John Morris played a great game, he had some sick throws, and really won the game for Canada today. Not that the other curlers didn't play good as well. Great game all around.

Hope I can get in the bar tomorrow in time for the game. I don't want to have to get in line too early.

GO USA!!!!

Has anyone noticed how all weekend it has been USA v Canada.

Speed Skating. 4 man bobsled, Ice Dancing, Skiing...

Just seems like there have been a LOT of events where it was either USA or Canada getting the gold.

If we merged we'd be a super country!!!

Ya, it seems to be occurring with greater frequency. Probably just selective memory, as Hockey is the main rivalry and in Canada is The Sport to do well in, so it becomes a very dominant focus.

this is what we live for...... this game today.

g/l to your team everyone.

GO CANADA. We can do this. think of the first period against Russia and come out the exact same way against these guys. We can outbody them and outwork them down low... I BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's gonna be a tough game.

Canada will have to play much better than they've done thus far IMO, since US has been the better team overall.

I thought Canada outplayed USA in the first game, their goalie was just hotter. It can be anyones game today.

The jingoism in these games has been so intense that I hope Canada will lose (but they will probably win). It's going to suck if the next Winter Games in Russia will have the same jingoism, especially with their lackluster performance in these games.

congrats, you're the first person on this forum i've ever had to set to "ignore". great feature, btw. thanks ATOT admins.

It must suck to be so sensitive to opposing fans.

all you have done is troll in this thread. maybe you should watch the Tom Brokaw thing on US/Canada relations to get an understanding about just how important and symbiotic the Canada/US relationship is... I live near the border and I love the US... I don't see any of this jingoism you are referring to... all I see is national pride... there is never any shortage of it at anyone's Olympics... it's kind of normal for hometown crowds to cheer their athletes and country on...

not every topic is trollable, dude. plus, you're trying too hard and it's obvious.

It's kinda neat to have someone ignored but still be able to view their posts. Just letting you know that I put you on ignore makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. 🙂

but if you just GTFO, it would be great for everyone that is actually enjoying the games and this thread 🙂 peace 🙂

I've provided a valid and opposing viewpoint. That is not trolling. I'd say what you are doing is trolling - trying to intimidate someone into silence with insults. You're basically trying to transform a thread to talk about the Olympics into a zombie, slowly marching in a single direction.

Perhaps you don't see it because you are neck-deep in it? Much of the international media is amazed at the new level of nationalism in the games exhibited by the home crowd. The jingoism is intense. This is much more than just simple hometown crowds. The disgusting Own the Podium, the collective shrug at the luger's death, etc.

This whole thing has been against the Olympic spirit many of us want. It's natural to root for your country, but what's happening in Vancouver is just too much.

Nah, I'm here to *try* to enjoy the Olympics. It's just so hard this year. However, even if one doesn't enjoy the overall games, there are still some interesting events.

Funny, almost sad actually, how some Americans think the US has a shot at this medal. Hopes will be dashed no later than second period, they'll be lucky in fact to not be insurmountably outpaced in goals before then. It's ok, you have 2014 to try again.

You must be a very sad and lonely person.

You can't possibly believe what you've been writing. Some years ago somebody, perhaps you, was asked to show the court on the doll where the Europeans touched you. Did Canada too?

I don't understand how you can't believe someone could think that. It's been expressed in the international media quite a bit. It's not an isolated view.

Got my Canada shirt and hat on ready for the party to start!!! 😀

The final battle!! Canada vs U.S.A. - should be a good one!
