not termination news (yet in all cases), but some season finale dates are out:

Chuck will conclude its third season with a two-hour engagement on Monday, May 24, at 8 pm/ET, NBC just confirmed. That gives you more than three whole months to plan a kick-ass viewing party. More Peacock finale dates are below…

Monday, May 10: Trauma (9-10 pm/ET)
Wednesday, May 12: Mercy (8-9 pm/ET)
Wednesday, May 19: Law & Order: SVU (10-11 pm/ET)
Thursday, May 20: Community, Parks and Recreation, The Office, 30 Rock (8-10 pm/ET)
Sunday, May 23: Celebrity Apprentice (9-11 pm/ET)
Monday, May 24: Law & Order (10-11 pm)
Tuesday, May 25: The Biggest Loser (8-10 pm)

The fifth season of Friday Night Lights will be its last, multiple sources confirm.

Although an NBC rep insists no official decision on FNL’s future has been made, I’m told the network has informed the show’s cast that they’re free to pursue other work after production on season 5 wraps in June. And while the news is sure to make you — and, more importantly, me — sad, this cloud is chockablock with silver linings. To wit:

* We won’t realize the show is gone for ages. While season 4 wraps tonight on DirecTV, it won’t even debut on NBC until April 30. And the fifth season? That may not hit the network until 2011. (It’ll premiere on DirecTV in the fall.)
* While there was always the possibility that the critical darling could continue for a sixth season, no one connected to the show really expected it to. In other words, though we may sniffle and sob, the cast and crew have already gotten that out of their system by now.
* For the show’s MVPs, the timing is great: Pilot season is just kicking off, so the actors are free to attach themselves to new fall shows with no availability issues. As I mentioned, production on season 5 is expected to wrap in June or July, right around the time most broadcast shows start up production. (My God, can you imagine the bidding wars that’ll ensue over the services of Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton?)
* The timing of the announcement is also great for behind-the-scenes quarterback Jason Katims and his fellow producers. Now they can call their final plays knowing that they’ll be their final plays.

Wasn't Trauma canceled and taken off the air a few months ago?

unofficially I believe.

wait what?! why?

It was a decent show I thought.

Edit:

NBC has announced that Trauma will be returning to Monday nights starting on March 8th. They’ve also just ordered three additional episodes, bringing the season total to 20. That means that there are 10 new episodes of Trauma to come.

last news item I saw for official stuff was that after the first 13 eps they only ordered like 6 more (far less than a full reorder to complete the first season but enough to fill some dates post olympics). apparently a bunch of doctor/paramedic groups just blasted it for being crap.

Huh, Numb3rs is still on? I remember watching that show like 4-5 years ago and enjoyed it.. wow, it is on season 6 now and still airs on the same day and time. I don't know why I forgot about it. Probably because I never watch anything on CBS. Meh, oh well.

Better Off Ted is basically a lock for being dead, as both Jay Harrington and Andrea Anders have signed on to and filmed pilots for new shows. Andrea Anders's show is a pretty big one and is already picked up and slated for a full season.

Too bad, that's one of the few fence shows I gave a damn about.

I'm glad they're finally gonna end 24...I can't even watch this season. That show ran its course 3 or 4 seasons ago. It was my favorite show back in the day though...just seems like re-runs.

Yea, this season sucks.

Even season 6 was better, IMO, than season 8 so far.

The problem is that it's just more and more of the same old thing over and over.

24 gone, somewhat interesting.
Not mentioned yet in this thread was that fringe gets another season.

Somewhat surprised we haven't heard more yeah or nay details with everybody now back and ón air after the winter and olympíc breaks.

The only "on the fence" stuff I watch are:

Accidentally on Purpose
New Adventures of Old Christine
Rules of Engagement

The only cancelled one I watch is:
24

However I could live without any of those getting renewed. I think it's time for 24 to be done by now. I still like Rules of Engagement though b/c of Puddy.

There has been a lot of shows that haven't been given yea or nay yet. With rare exception most of those are normally done by the end of march, so I would expect the news wires to be hot and heavy over the next couple of weeks.
