2010 ties record for warmest year

Warmer-than-average conditions dominated the world's land areas this year. The most prominent warmth was in western Alaska, most of the contiguous United States, eastern Canada, Greenland, the Middle East, eastern and central Europe, western and far eastern Russia and northeastern Asia.

So every civilized part of the world? They could just say that. They could just say it was warmer everywhere and leave it at that.

What? That's crazy!

I was remarking to people that it feels like we didn't even have a summer here in SoCal.

Are these the same "scientists" who were off by 300x when writing the environmental legislation in California?

Our summer here in NorCal was unusually mild this year as well.

Maybe that's why, instead of "Global Warming," folks are just calling it "climate change."

What? Total BS.
This was the coldest summer in SoCal in as far as I can remember.
There essentially was no summer except for 1 weekend in September.

It was very cold this past winter in East Tennessee, older folks were saying it was pretty much as cold as they remember it being. It has been quite warm this summer.

Pretty normal year in N. Nevada. No record lows, <5 days approaching record highs. October has already set a record for wettest October ever. Nothing close to overall warmest year ever here.

It was one of the warmest summers here in NY which probably means we're in store for one of the coldest winters.

Where are you in the Southeast? I'm in FL and the summer has definitely been mild..

I guess I'm actually more 'south' than 'southeast'. I don't think we set any records for temps, but we had a long stretch of consecutively hot days, and we are still above average. We're also suffering from a long streak of days without rain in my particular area.

This kinda sums things up pretty well (even though it's talking about Little Rock, AR and not where I actually live):

* 21 days with triple-digit heat

* 8 of those were consecutive triple-digit days (July 29 - August 5)

* Hottest day in almost 10 years (107 on Aug. 3)

* Record 60 straight days of 90-degree heat (June 30 - August 28)

* Total of 110 days of 90-degree heat (that's almost 1/3 of a year!)

Eh? 2010 was the warmest year? We're still 2.5 months from 2011...😵

Well this way they can get the dumb to buy into the global warming/climate change BS.
If they waited until the COLD months came the average would drop and they can't use alarmist propoganda to further their ideology of forcing people out of choices.

Did any of you actually click the link and read the article? The title of the damn thing says:

2010 Tied for Warmest on Record So Far

This year has been a steamy one so far, with the first nine months tied for the warmest on record with the same period in 1998, according to a new report looking at combined land and ocean surface temperatures.

Seriously, people. 🙄

It was fvcking hot as hell in the Chicago area this year.
Hell, it's the middle of fvcking October and it hasn't even snowed once this year! Hell, it was 80 like a week ago.

80!!!
That's fvcking July weather.

So 2010 was the warmest year on record? Just like 2009, and 2008, and 2007, and 2006... I stopped believing that ages ago. We had a fairly average summer. Sure as he'll topped the coldest and wettest one in recent memory last year.
