I have a 2010 Mustang GT 4.6 V8 and the check engine light just came on. I ran the diagnostic myself and it came up as "emissions leak (small)." My question is what can cause this leak, and how can I fix it? I was reading that at times it may be the gas cap. Well, my car doesn't have the traditional gas cap as it uses an almost flush surface to where the gas cap would be that is made out of rubber which I assume forms a seal. No, its not custom, all Mustangs have this. I checked the rubber seal and there are no cracks or splits in it so I don't know what else to check or where to check! Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you guys!

Reset the code and I bet it goes away and never comes back.

As said reset it and see if it comes back. If it does then check the cap area. I know what you have but there is still a spring and seal there so that could be going bad.

After that it can get much harder to find.
