Would this be the same gullible electorate that voted for hope and change?

Basically. I'm not sure what the Republicans are bringing to the table other than the fact they are not Democrats, the exact reason why the R's got wiped out 2 years ago.

That's a pretty good prediction. I read an article that the biggest turnout is going to be from white collar professionals. aka, tax payers. Turnout is really what is going to drive big republican gains. No longer are working tax paying Americans going to allow this administration to steal our money and create total government reliance. Self determination and liberty will win again after Obama's real agenda has been exposed and The People are rejecting his policies.

Craig: If voters vote for who I like, democracy wins. If voters vote for who I don't like, democracy fails.

Craig, the only true failure here is you.

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot...

Craig: If billionaires give money to support politicians I agree with, they are philanthropists. If they give to politicians I disagree with, they are corrupting the system and evil.

I am not a betting man but I still think Nick is wildly overoptimistic.

I am already thinking beyond 11/2/2010, and wondering how long it will take the GOP to totally fuck up the USA in 2011?

If Nick had any brains, which he evidently does not, he would be worried about the end of the GOP as a major political party coming soon.

The GOP has the best political slogans, but slogans never feed the bulldog of good governance, and by extension the positive results it takes to win future elections.

If the GOP takes the house and senate, they don't have to do anything to be successful. If they can just get through the next two years without fucking anything up I'll be happy. If they simply won, then went home, I'd be thrilled.

Exactly. Whenever I hear, "If GOP wins, its gridlock and nothing gets done. Thats bad for everyone!!!"

LOL. If the federal government did nothing I would be happier than a pig in shit. Gridlock with nothing getting done is music to my ears.

The Dems are going to get their asses kicked. If it were the Republicans in power now they'd be the ones getting their asses kicked. Neither party has anything.

I think Angle and O'Donnell will both lose and democrats will keep the Senate.

Republicans will take the House and Pelosi will retire after the end of her next term.

Predictions; Obama finally moves to the left, Clinton taxes are back, Obama sits on his hands as Congress bickers, economy booms.

The nutjobs that get in this Tuesday provide endless comedy to the nation and pave the way to the death of the Republican party. People will beg Obama to run for a second term. Probably will.

R's got wiped out because they created this mess.

The republicans did NOT create the housing bubble, nor did they create the morgage mess by adopting the "everyone deserves a house" policy started by Carter.

They did nothing to stop it (won't somebody please think of the children???) but they sure as hell didn't bring it on.

They brought it on with lax oversight, let industry regulate itself, we are now reaping the fruits of that flawed ideology.

I agree Red. All I want is for government to stay out of the way as much as possible. The only thing any government does extremely well is kill people. While I'm sure there are times when that's a very valuable talent to have, right now isn't one of those times.

Bullshit. No matter how much oversight there was, the "everyone deserves a house" crap would have ended up like this.

Even Barney Frank admitted it.

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2010...se-financial-servies-committe-fannie-freddie/

“I hope by next year we’ll have abolished Fannie and Freddie” he said, referring to the two government sponsored enterprises (GSEs), “... it was a great mistake to push lower-income people into housing they couldn’t afford and couldn’t really handle once they had it.” Then he added, “I had been too sanguine about Fannie and Freddie.”

But that didn't stop him from doing an about-face and pressing for the SAME failed policies that brought us here.

What was the definition of insanity???

They didn't create it, but they sure as hell didn't do anything about it. The problem is that the dems came along and poured a bunch of salt in the wounds, so now they get tossed and the reps are going to be in the same boat. We need some long term planing, we need representatives that will look beyond reelection.
