Where did I say my Jeep was programmed the same or had the same parts?

Since I have already posted about the programming of the Lexus ESC, I'm not sure where you are coming from...

I am fully aware that the Lexus is likely programmed differently for it's target drivers and pointed this out more than once in the thread.

The Lexus is also likely programmed different than it's Toyota sibling.

Since I can select a few levels of intervention of the ESC on my Jeep, including completely off, I am also aware somewhat of how those levels effect it's handling. I'm not fully aware because I have never floored the Hemi and banzai'd a corner.

Since my Jeep has significantly more HP and torque than the Lexus, I can only imagine what such a manuever would feel like, having seen what CR did with the Lexus. 😀

This is what I'm talking about:

I drive a Grand Cherokee with all of the same electronic driving gizmos as the Lexus in question, so I am very familiar with them, and with the quirks of CAN bus vehicles.

You don't have the same gizmos, and you're not familiar with the way that particular vehicles act. All CAN bus vehicles don't have the same "quirks" as you put them.

It is literally the equivalent of saying that you understand the quirks of a mac with an intel because you have a windows 7 rig with amd, because they are both X86.

Never said they used the same parts or programming, or even suggested it. You are making things up as far as I am concerned. No wonder I can't figure out why you even responded... 🙄
 
Oh snap, you mean Toyota makes the least sporty of a super super not sporty vehicle? That's so close to news that... OH MY GOD GUYS! The ground is beneath me. Everybody stop what you are doing and check if the ground is underneath you too.
 
Toyota stopped production and sales the same day this was posted, saw it in the paper here at lunch a couple days ago. I guess they are capable of learning 😛

The first time I've heard about this 'issue' I thought: 'well, it's a RWD car, what do you expect?!'

So the problem was probably the tester, who was out for some lines, even though he tells shit...

I think it is funny that people complain about an SUV being "too tall". If you don't want ground clearance why the hell do you want an SUV to begin with? Get a freak'n wagon or minivan.

Because Toyota makes ridiculously tall SUVs that have no more ground clearance than a sedan. Height does not equal ground clearance.

:hmm: The GX460 has over 8 inches of clearance while all their sedans have less than 6. I'd bet that that 8 inches is measured under the differentials and there is even more under the center of the vehicle where you're most likely to hand up on things. It's approach and departure angles aren't too terrible either. The Lexus is based off the 4runner which is a pretty capable SUV, it's not one of the car based crossovers that may as well be a station wagon.

My aunt had a diesel Cutlass Supreme. It must have weighed 3 tons and drove like a tank. When you pushed down on the pedal you had to wait a couple seconds for the thing to move forward. In the process it would make a god aweful sound like a grizzly bear with an impacted molar.

I suspect it would be very difficult to deliberately crash it though.
