$#!& my dad says was just downright awful. i had high hopes for it(mostly because of kirk) but it was painful to watch. but it will still probably be watched by all the same idiots that watch 2 1/2 men. instead of watching some other shows that are actually funny.

i love NCIS and record/watch all the episodes, but i dont think the acting or writing is all that great, and as much as i like Gibbs, his acting leaves alot to be desired, and all the stuff he does is so predicable. i just dont understand how it is the #1 drama on tv.

Firm/established characters. Yes Gibbs is predictable but that's just his personality on the show. Can't get enough NCIS.

I find that, other than sports, the only 'network' shows I watch anymore are on FX or Showtime. Sons... Rescue Me... Terriers is interesting... Dexter...

And for some reason that 'Glades' show on A&E is interesting... it's numbingly formulaic but it's interesting.

But ABCCBSNBCFOX can suck it... The last show I watched regularly on the Big 4 was probably X-Files.

This. I watch Sunny, Sons, Breaking Bad. That's it. I watch a shit ton of sports, but I find network tv to be absolutely nauseating.

Yesterday saw "$#!& my dad says" and boy was it bad.
I love William Shatner (he ruled Boston Legal) but that show was just painful to watch!
Bad writing and bad acting (except for Kirk!!!) ... I had to turn it off.

I'm very disappointed in this show. It's just NOT funny...Yes, it has an occasional funny bit, but overall, they're just trying too hard to make humor out of the "a deadbeat son comes to live with his crotchety-old dad."
(the kid reminds me of ATOT...and the Shatner character reminds me of a nice version of me) :p

Definitely disappointed with Fringe. Event was meh, Modern Family delivered, Community delivered, Dexter delivered, Running Wilde was meh, have season 1 of Mad Men to watch, want to see what the fuss is about.

I have not yet seen Fringe S3e02, but I do agree that the premier was one of the weaker episodes in the series. Hopefully they won't cancel the show just like that, but will allow it to end with a graceful finish.

Anyone watching "Blue Bloods" on Friday night?

The pilot was decent enough. IMO, better than "Chase" or "The Event."

I still think Outsourced is pretty good and has potential. I rather liked the second episode. I don't get the absolute hate for it in ATOT, especially the hate it got before a single episode even aired.

Actually, Fringe S3e02 was pretty good :)

Wonder what they were thinking when most of the shows the major networks are showing this season are completely new series.

Already in trouble.
Chuck
Fringe

Both had poor season premieres. Fringe posted like a 2.1. That's a cable like number.

Yea. As much as I love Chuck, I can't see NBC renewing it again.

Honestly, I'm just not sure why Chuck doesn't fare better in the ratings. It'd probably fare a lot better on a different day, perhaps Wednesday or Thursday. There's just too much on Mondays.

But, people keep watching stupid shit all the time. Dancing with the Stars pulls in roughly 20 million (give or take) viewers, while shows like Chuck barely scrape 5 million. Hell, even the most popular shows on monday (besides DWTS) don't pull in more than 11-13 million.

I watched fringe episode 1 & 2 last night and thought it was ok. That show tends to start weak in the season and then gets stronger as it goes. It did that the past two seasons IMO. I'm not willing to give up on it yet.

I saw the 1st episode of chuck so far and thought it was fine but predictable.

House had been good as always IMO.

I thought Fringe S03E02 was pretty good the other night. I decided to try one more episode of Outsourced for some reason, and it was awful. Now I'm done.

Big Bang, Modern Family, Community were all great this week. Always Sunny was meh okay. I'm done with The Event, because I told myself I would be if it ended up being an
alien
show. Just not entertaining. I thought Detroit 187 has actually been pretty good so far, too.

I still want P&R back.

I believe it's coming back in the winter/spring (unless Outsourced gets canceled, but even then they could just do Office reruns or something)

more importantly, the new season of Caprica got bumped up to next week :)

Was Parks and Recreation killed? That would be a shame, it improved from meh to pretty damn good . . . certainly much better than Community, which is effing sappy.

I watched the first ep of Lone Star because it seemed to be getting a lot of good reviews and thought it really sucked. Not surprised to see it go.

olds keeps touting Modern Family to me, especially that lovely and hilarious same-sex couple which he says evokes such fond memories of his own upbringing, but I dunno, both my bible and my qur'an prescribe death for the smokers of bones.

I tired Running Wilde because it has Will Arnett. Jesus, it sucks.

I don't understand it. The networks still have considerable monetary resources. Why can't they turn out any half-decent shows?

Yeah, I kind of wish they would move chuck to a new hour/day. It is a really good show, but they have it competing with shows like house. Too many people simply have not even heard about it :(.

It's going to be a mid-season replacement. I assume if Outsourced was killed it would take that slot right away.

Chuck is in trouble, ratings suck.
Shit My Dad Says is safe, ratings are good even though the show isn't
Community has been excellent, but is in deep trouble and might not last the season.
Running Wilde probably won't make it
Blue Bloods has been solid, I think that one will wind up getting moved off of Friday and will take a mid-week slot from some other struggling show.

My Generation is #2 to get the axe, it's been canceled.

P&R will be back as a mid-season replacement (at least that's the current plan... given that NBC/Universal has already bumped up one show this year -- Caprica -- I wouldn't say it's completely outside the realm of possibility for P&R to see an early premier if, like, Outsourced gets canceled)

Funny that my gf knows Kelli Giddish from Chase, but had to break it to her that show won't last. I think she was pissed at me all night.

Has The Event had it's second episode yet? I imagine it had a good showing for the first episode, but I've heard mixed reviews (it looked terrible to me) so I'd be interested to see how the ratings were for episode 2. :hmm:

KT

I've heard it's bad, that's all I can say.

I thought Bones is going pretty strong and NCIS is as great as ever.
NCIS Los Angeles is entertaining (though ridiculously stupid when compared to NCIS).
I really miss Burn Notice and White Collar.
Both new Office episodes so far have been pretty weak and felt really short (felt like 10 minutes ... lack of story?)
I miss Boston Legal.
