So after some problems getting this thing started I finally get an OS to boot.

asus a7n8xe deluxe.
mobile 2500+
512 pc 3200 corsair.
1.65? vcore
fresh install of xp...sp1 or 2 still not installed (dont know if this matters)

so i have been playing around with bios all day and i cant even get it to stock levels "1.8"
ive put it into OC range and it still isnt at 1.8

i have no clue what im doing wrong or not...maybe its the board or chip

also, when i move windows around with the mouse, it skips/jumps around like its under load.
And webpages dont even scroll smoothly.

The a7n's have problems with the 13 and up multis I believe. It looks to be dropping to the lowest possble multiplier for the board. Check it in CPU-z. I may be wrong on this though.

12x should work. :)

The choppiness you are talking about sounds like you haven't installed video drivers.

No problem glad to help. :)

As for your ram, that depends on what sticks you are using. I always like to manually set my timings to the rated speeds just in case the SPD isn't reading correctly, but that's up to you.

The maximum multiplier available to you on the processor is 12.5, so keep that in mind as you overclock. Peace.

It isnt the max multiplier of the chip...but of the board. Test it out and see. :)
