Uhh, so is AT&T NEVER going to support tethering or what? This is such fucking BS.
Not until they make significant network upgrades. The iPhone is killing them as-is, that many new tethering users would probably make their network collapse.

why would someone want the 3g now? They just spent the last 20 minutes pimping 3Gs and how its better.

Accessibility. There are a lot of people in the market that want the iPhone but don't want to spend $200 on a phone. I know that it's really not much when you consider how much you have to pay after 2 years, but the opening price matters to a lot of people.

any updates on the hardware for iphone?

2x as fast would mean either better cpu or more ram or both.
I'm sure we'll get actual tech specs soon. Apple rarely talks about the iPhone's specs, even in keynote speeches.

$29 Snow Leopard upgrade is awesome. I really can't believe that.
Really, how much could they charge for it? It's almost entirely composed of under the hood changes. There are exceedingly few end-user features. It's a lot like 10.1 in that respect - it's going to be a must-have upgrade, but no one would have paid full-price for it.

Yeah, I just got a brand new (replacement) 3G. I feel like I could have sold it a week ago for close to $400. Wonder what it'd go for now.

Not that I really need the 3Gs, but it couldn't hurt. 😀

Why are they advertising tethering and mms if their only US carrier doesnt support it?

Because there are users in other countries besides the United States?😉

This is a joke, right? Wouldn't I have heard about them by now?

"Other countries". HA! Good one for a Monday morning!

I'm so bummed about all the AT&T suckage. On top of ALL that, those bastards don't even lower the rates. When is the AT&T exclusiveness done with??

No idea, but with AT&T's behavior, I think I'll hold onto my original iphone until the exclusivity is up. Either AT&T will have no choice but to behave like a civilized phone company to keep their business or everyone will bail on them...

I know, it's getting completely ridiculous. Wasn't there a set time though? Like 2 or 3 years?

So everything was for the iPhone.. is it safe to assume the iPod Touch will get all of this new hardware as well?
