hopefully Sunday will be another close game. Magic shouldn't give up. Kobe and the Lakers have choked a 3-1 lead before. Granted that was with Kwame Brown and Smush Parker but shit happens.

Guys, what are your thoughts on Stan Van Gundy just getting totally outcoached this game? IMO he sucked ass and has been outclassed by Jackson all series. Why the fck are you telling Jameer Nelson to double Kobe IN THE PAINT in OT when Fish and Ariza are camping the 3pt line and hot? Why didn't you tell Nelson to foul with <10 secs to prevent LA from getting a 3pt attempt to tie? Why didn't you get Lewis involved more? Why weren't there more pick and rolls with Howard (your team's bread and butter) at the end? Just a few questions for the fat man.

Howard stat line: 16 pts, 21 boards, 9 blocks.
He may not have it altogether offensively, but there is no question about his defense.
I wish Bynum would get inspired by his defensive prowess. We could definitely use a power to Gasol's finesse.
Defensively he dominated the paint. And beyond.
Offensively, he didn't just suck, he was a liability (atleast in the 2nd half).
It's weird, sometimes he looks smooth/quick as hell and other times he looks downright awkward. Guess it all depends on whether or not the shot goes in 😵

yeah that series.
followed it up with a blowout @ Suns, lose @ home in OT then get blown out and lose the series in phoenix.

I think he tries to force it too much when everyone collapses on him, and he thinks he's athletic enough to get off the shot, which winds up off-balance.
Imo his main problem is that he has no arsenal further than 4ft from the basket, and even that's troublesome in traffic. All that athleticism and 5 years in the league, and he's really still just a dunker (as far as being consistent/reliable with anything...other than a layup)

he must really hate Rafer Alston. because if Phil was coaching the Magic, he would never have put in Nelson (maybe do a switch play him as the backup to Alston instead)
then again if phil was coaching that team would be at a loss trying to figure out the triangle offense and just throw up 3s and ignore Dwight howard.

um.. no dude, the Magic knew it was over by then... Pietrius knew what he was doing...
The league is going to review it but I have no doubt in my mind that they will upgrade it. Question is, will they suspend him over it with a flagrant 2?
i highly doubt it... gasol did overreact a bit.. it was kinda funny
He's Euro. They overreact to every foul.

Agreed, Alston got them there throughout the whole playoffs and Nelson is barely in playoff shape. Why would you screw with your team chemistry IN THE FINALS, just b/c Nelson was an All Star in tiptop shape? Sad. Nelson does make some good passes but Alston is a bigger scoring threat and plays with much more energy.
Not sure why you think Phil would ignore Howard, being that he won 3 titles with Shaq. /shrug

Rafer probably just smiles to much that SVG got sick of it. Sure he took some bad shots but that was during the time when all the Magics were making bone head plays. At least he was driving forcing the lakers to collapse.

Stan Van Gundy: "We felt that 11 seconds was too much to start shooting foul shots, and we just gave too much space on the 3. But in retrospect [maybe we should have fouled]..." No sht? And why the fck would you full court press on that play? My God. Almost every normal team with a 3pt lead fouls with that much time left and Stan wanted to be special and got burned. Orlando gets Phil Jackson and it's a whole other outcome, this coach is garbage.

Tough choice, Rafer's constantly smiling or Jameer's hanging mouth piece. I do want to smack both of them upside the head. Can I bonk both of their heads together?

I think Phil is opposed to fouling to prevent shots @ end of games. Either it was JVG or Mark Jackson that mentioned this in the Denver series. Or Houston series can't remember which.
But that's Phil he has 9 rings and can afford to gamble.

I think the Lakers will win a close one today. I'm pretty sure Kobe been banging his head since Tuesday for missing FTs and TO @ the end.
Magic will pick up game 5 and Lakers win game 6 for the title.
I will kiss you if they win tonight.
