Stop being a typical dumbass kobe fanboy.

How is that worse than your stereotypical Kobe hater? Who cant get over a 2002 series?

For some reason I picture you as a 60 year old man sitting in your underwear in a dark room with a Kobe pincushion voodoo doll, and a poster that says "Kings 2002 Western Conference Champions" that was printed prematurely.

 not a kings fan in the least, but unlike you, i have a sense of justice. If NBA sanctions had any meaningful effect on Kobe, he'd stop being a cheapshotting bitch, but as we've seen, he still is one.

I agree that NBA officiating towards stars is fucking terrible...but I don't hold Kobe responsible for that. If you do, you might as well hold Jordan responsible too.

Man, I hope VBB has an ignore option, 'cause it's gotten to the point where some people in this thread are getting really close to getting shot in the face across the internet.

David Stern's fault. Seriously.

QFT. Yeah, players whine a bit if they don't get the call but almost all players whine since it's a psychological game to sway the official to give you the next call.

In the end it's the officials and the league that are the ones making the calls and blowing the whistles, not the players. If the officials would stop bailing out the players on drives to the basket among other things, then the players would stop making stupid drives in the sole attempt to draw a ticky-tack blocking foul (see Lebron @ Game 5).

As for the "cheap shots," players will pretty much toe the line on what they can get away with in any sport. The NBA in the previous decades was way more physical than it is now. Bill Laimbeer, Kevin McHale, Dennis Johnson anyone?

Geebus Phokus, you have so much hate for Kobe, you must jizz in your pants whenever he gets a tech. How many players have thrown cheapshots and not got caught? There's a lot. What makes Kobe different? The smart ones don't get caught and even if it's obvious, refs can't see everything. Look at Bruce Bowen, he does dirty things all the time but doesn't get caught cus he's good at hiding it and he's not a superstar either.

I'm not a Kobe lover at all and the Lakers are not my team either but seriously man you need to chill.

Can we get the troll out of this thread yet?

His bitterness is bringing the mood down.

--------------------------------------------------------

On topic, i'm really hoping Bynum and Gasol can contain Howard for most of the game.

Bynum is slower, and Gasol is a fairy under the basket, so I dont know though....

Don't blame you for being down knowing what really happened in 2002.

Actually i watch football mostly (and some MMA). The 'violence' there is justified and part of the game. But even then, players get ejected for striking the other team like that in football

Kobe is a little cheapshotting bitch and the NBA lets him get away with it.
If it was part of the game and if refs would actually call fouls and eject kobe like they do other players, then i'd have no problem with it.

Yea, the league really needs to open their eyes!

Dude, you have some of the biggest anger issues out of anyone I have ever seen on this board, including CasioTech.

I hope the mods clean this thread up if it keeps getting derailed from the NBA finals discussion.

If you want to talk NBA conspiracy theories, start your own thread.

I think Orlando is going to give the Lakers A LOT of trouble. This is a tough match up for the Lakers because the Magic are as big, if not bigger then the Lakers. In addition, you have a better PG on the Magic, I know Kobe is Kobe, but Dwight is going to be Dwight.

Yeah, but in those games the Magic had a healthy Jameer Nelson, who scored something like 27 pts /game against LA.

If Odom plays well, the Lakers win. He's truly the wildcard, and when motivated and healthy he's better then Hedo and Rashard.

Gasol and Bynum (if reasonably healthy) will be much more of a challenge than Ilgauskus and Varejao.

Yea Alston is not a scorer.

Odom like you said is always the wildcard. Who knows when he's going to show up but when he does, he's unguardable. The only problem I see is Gasol guarding Lewis outside the post.

In 2007 Cleveland swept the season series from San Antonio (2 - 0). Result of Finals - Spurs 4 Cavs 0.

In 2008 Boston swept the season series from Los Angeles (2 - 0). Result of Finals - Celtics 4 Lakers 2.

In 2009 Orlando swept the season series from Los Angeles (2 - 0). Result of Finals - ???

i can't believe Lebron wasn't fined for not talking to the media after the game. most any other player does that, and they're getting a fine...

The Magic have shown flexibility this year in the face of adversity. When one guy goes down someone else steps up. While there isn't quite the numbers the Magic had when Jameer was playing, they aren't that far off. Clearly something has been working since the Magic are in the finals, beating the team with the best record in the league pretty resoundingly in the process.

I hope the rumors about Jameer being re-activated are untrue. Nobody can come back after surgery and 4 months of rehab and instantly be playing at a competitive level in the NBA, let alone at a level required for the finals. imo, these are nothing more than leaks by the Magic to possibly get into the head of the Lakers.

I agree with you about Gasol and Bynum. Gasol, particularly, will be possibly the biggest challenge for the Magic. imo, if Pau plays well the Lakers will win. If the Magic shut him down or manage to get him in foul trouble often, it may be a different story.
