I'm liking it so far. I have high hopes for this model...I'm definitely interested if Mazda gets a hold of the Ford 3.5 and massages 260+ horsepower out of it. That or offering the 2.3L turbo from the start. I've always been a fan of Mazda's since my Millenia...I loved the engine in that car even if it was a bitch to work on.

Yeah...I'm a little worried about the ass looking a bit "Maxima-esque" after seeing some of the spy shots...here's to hoping Mazda doesn't screw it up.

When I saw the new Mondeo, I thought "Mazda 6?" I thought the Mondeo shares the same platform.

I don't think they will. Mazda has always had a very nice design language. The rear flows like the front...

I like how it's going with a modern RX-8/3 look, but the way the mouth sits right now, with the lines and the fog lamps...really makes me think of the Saturn Sky. *shrugs*

Mazda is known for making hoods for people and not for aliens.

Like how the nissan looks like a ski-helmet with the over extended arch in front.


I also imagine they'll be adding the 3.5L cyclone engine and getting rid of the underperforming durtec. The cyclone is also easily equipped with forced induction so it will be interesting to see what their line up will be for next year.

I'm guessing the base 4 Cylander with 160BHP, Base 6 with about 240 BHP, and a supercharged 6 with about 280-300BHP.
