Does Japanese Miata have the E-brake on the right? It seems like E-brake should be next to driver, not passenger. My 3 has E-brake on passenger side too, and also there is pocket on driver seat that is impossible to reach, making me believe that it should have been on the passenger seat, but they were too lazy to modify all the details for left hand drive.

2007 and newer. That's the one I want ;) It's quite a clever hardtop--doesn't intrude into the trunk at all!

That is exactly where left hand drive shifter and e-brake are on my car, but steering wheel is on other side.. I guess I'd rather have shifter than e-brake closer to driver, so it could be worse.

Personally, having driven cars where the handbrake lever jammed into my thigh, I like having it on the passenger side. Well, actually, I like having it between the driver's seat and the door like it is on my 944 and 914, but that's a quirk of mine and I don't know many people who actually prefer that.

I have never liked the way the Miata looked and this just continues that...

Sometimes I am giving a lady a ride and reach for the handbrake and she thinks I am going for her leg ;)

I loved my '07, and I like the refresh.

Still waiting for the next MazdaSpeed Miata with the 2.3L Turbo MZR out of the MazdaSpeed3, or a Rotary 13B/16B from the RX. I am not holding my breath.

Thought that project was canned? But ya the miata needs some kick under the hood.

I thought I read somewhere that Mazda said the 2.3L wouldn't fit...

I test drove a Miata before the refresh. It's a lot faster than I thought it would be and the folding hardtop is very very good. But I still found the interior to be cramped (comparing to a Sky). Still, it's def more butch than before (I don't think it could get any gayer) and handles really well and makes a good noise.
