2009 Masters

Epic Fail

Diamond Member
Tiger is basically out now with double bogey to start the first day, 9 shots back. It'll be something if Kenny Perry can pull it off and win his first major at 48.

This thread lives up to the OP's name.

The only thing worse than watching golf is listening to people sit around and talk about golf. Sure its fun to do but it's not a spectator sport.

Is it even still a sport or just something old people do like shuffle board?

Which makes me wonder why you're so anxious to jump into a golf thread.

I actually thought it was about somebody graduating in 2009 with a masters degree.

Not really, I have no interest in watching golf at all. Why would I even bother to pay attention to the different events? I tend to spend my time doing/watching things I enjoy, not what's popular.

I dont like soccer but i know what the world cup is...i dont watch collage football but I know what the rosebowl is

you live one hell of a sheltered life if you don't know what the masters is...if you went on the internet or watched any sort of TV you would have heard about it...most likely in a story about tiger woods

I've heard about it and I know what it is, but when you say 'Masters' the first thing that comes to mind is not golf.

Should be a REALLY good final round. Lots of quality players in the hunt. I'm still gunning for Kenny Perry. Interesting stat I saw on TV - 17 of the last 18 winners of the Masters has been in the leaders group (last group).

I'm looking forward to it as well, awesome in HD. If KP can pull it off he would top JN as the oldest to ever win it. If you don't play golf I guess watching it on TV would be boring, but for me it's a lot of fun..

I made sure Easter dinner would be done before the last group goes off so we can all watch it. You're right that if you don't play you can't really appreciate it. I predict a really tight finish tomorrow.

Yeah, looks to be a great final round. The back nine is gonna be great, none of these guys have won it before so should be a few 'chokes'.

I like KP but wouldn't be surprised if Angel Cabrara or Jim Furyk won. Those two already have a major and I tend to think that helps (which is why I don't think Chad Campbell will win, even though he's very good).

But anyway, looks like we'll have another new/1st time Master's champion, and I like that.

I read in the paper the course will be setup for scoring - birdies, eagles. Should be awesome! With that setup Anthony Kim could put up a really good number as he's getting tons of birdies, but also throwing in some bogies and a double here and there to really hurt. If he can avoid those and really score he could make a move.

Kenny Perry seems very calm and focused.

Augusta National is just absolutely beautiful on TV. I wonder what it's like up close and personal? Oh and, GO NICK WATNEY!! 😛

I don't know, after playing some Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds on my PS3 I've grown more appreciative of the game.
