2008 WSOP Final Table ?

just watching the rerun of this on ESPN2...

sorry if this a dumb question, but I don't see how Montgomery lost this hand...

Text

Montgomery got all his chips in preflop just a few hands later with (A-Diamonds)(3-Diamonds) after Peter Eastgate made a preflop raise. Eastgate called with (6-Hearts)(6-Spades), and Montgomery promptly hit an ace on the (A-Clubs)(Q-Spades)(4-Diamonds) flop. The turn brought the (A-Spades), and when Dennis Phillips told the table he folded a six, Eastgate was drawing to one out. That one out proved to be the (6-Diamonds), which came on the river.

How does Eastgate's set of sixes beat Montgomery's three aces? What am i missing?

The community cards included a pair of A's, so montgomery only had trip As whereas eastgate had a full house: trip 6s and pair of As

That one out proved to be the (6-Diamonds), which came on the river.

Agreed....

I wouldn't say the ratio is that lopsided.

Eastgate did catch some cards at the final table that made his job alot easier.....
