The pundits verdict: this wasn't a game changer. It was probably a wash.

Someone tell Palin that Scott McClellan isn't our leader in Afghanistan.

Listening to Palin talk was like listening to someone run their nails on a chalkboard. It was painful and not pleasant. She just came off as a parrot repeating party lines with no real substance or clear ideas of her own.

She did what she had to do, and didn't do what everyone here expected of her...

Biden was stronger in virtually every regard, but honestly I don't think it matters...people were looking for something that just didn't happen tonight and that will help her alot.

Watching on Fox; they're giving Biden props on command of issues, saying he wasn't personal enough. The best so far for Palin is she didn't embarrass herself.

Ugh, Biden was awesome all the way up to the moment he started with the "god" bullshit.

Remember who he's talking to and I say that as an agnostic.

You pretty much summed up most of the participants of P&N... well, actually, also most politicians in general.

That's because that's what she is.

Palin did a good job of not sticking to the questions on topic and going with what she knew.

which is what? repeating rhetoric

Hey I don't support her but I'm just stating what she did. She made herself "sound" a lot better than she usually is.

Greed on wall st?

No main street. Which hurts wall street. And main street. Corruption. Energy...

She did better than I expected, but still a lot of negatives.

Look at it this way. Everyone is biased towards their side...the fact that the republicans here are saying it was close, tells you that in reality it was a pretty solid win for Biden.

Palin was quasi-competent.

Biden was pretty good.

I'd say Biden won, but it wasn't the crushing defeat or embarrassment that a lot of people were predicting.

I never predicted that. I knew she could get through all this since she really didn't have to personally answer any direct question, and could just go with rehearsed talking points.

She'd make one folksy, believable spokesmodel. I see her, 30 years on, being the female Ed McMahon/Wilford Brimley on late night Social Security supplement and oatmeal commercials.

Doggone it, that's mmmmmm-mmmmmmm, GOOD! (Big smile.)

"she was giving a series of mini stump speeches" (Fox)

Talking about her speech cadences and folksy talk now.

I think that sums it up perfectly.
