I actually think that after the initial euphoria of not having imploded on stage, this debate will hurt her, and hurt Senator McCain. More people will realize that a wholly unprepared person is next in line in the White House and that really is unacceptable.

Just so you know Abe Lincoln made it to the whitehouse and he was from Hardin County, Kentucky. I don't think there is much more hick'ish than good old Kane-tuck.

I wasn't aware that Congressman Lincoln made an effort to appear "hick'ish" during his debates with Senator Douglas. I am also somewhat confident (even without having witnessed those debates) that Mr. Lincoln avoided flirting with the audience and never announced that he would only answer the questions he felt like answering...

The problem with Palin's folksy talk is that it is contrived. Her canned lines and phrases make her seem more like she's acting the part than an extension of who she is.

That whole "say it ain't so Joe, there you go again" line was so pathetic. Republicans should be embarrassed for that .

It would appear at this point that the McCain campaign is beyond shame.
