that looks a little TOO much like the G35.

You're just not used to japanese cars looking alike.
You don't hear anyone saying the BMW 525i look TOO much like the 325i.

i got the 05 se and i love it. if they jam that engine into that car, its going to be good. the only thing i would request out of it would be awd. that wont happen tho. if it did tho...

**CONFIRMED**
Guys, this is the new Altima Coupe.

Nissan has already announced this car to the dealer network, and after seeing this, I can't wait!

...Imagine a 300hp SE-R version with a 6sp manual!

I think they're planning a Spring launch, but I'll try to confirm that.
Just like Michael Blue said a couple posts up, this is indeed the Altima Coupe...I went on a study and got to check this out 3 months ago in Long Beach, it wasn't finished...at the time they had a external shell for us to check out the exterior (had the interior completely blanketed off), and they had a internal shell, with the exterior completely blanketed off, I was sworn to secrecy, otherwise I would have spilled the beans then....
I ran into a commercial shoot in the Downtown LA area last week for the Altima coupe (as per some of the production guys' statements). The car was towed to the shoot site (the ultra-modern CalTrans building) in an enclosed trailer with a motorcycle police escort (pretty rare for a commercial shoot in the area, and there are plenty weekly ). I followed the trailer to the site... They ran a water truck across the roadway and then tried to drive the car out of the trailer... I was right there, camera phone in hand... Unfortunately, the car broke down and wouldn't roll out of the trailer, so the whole shoot was scrapped and I've got absolutely no pics.

I like it. 🙂 Always wondered why they never made a coupe for the altima.

That being said, 270 hp, FWD...torque steer must be insane.

I've got the FWD VQ35DE chassis on my I35 and the torque steer is very minimized with VDC (vehicly dynamic control)

If I wasn't looking very hard through that blurry picture for an Altima I would've guessed a G35 or something highly related to the G35.

So is the torque, too. 😛

Looks like they might have used the G35 chassis?

That's called the 350Z

G35/350Z chassis.
From the nissanclub link above:
"Chassis
New platform Altima is the first global application of Nissan?s advanced ?D? platform, which offers much-improved body rigidity."

Nice, I was thinking of getting a Mazda 6 but I might have to hold off. Not crazy about the four door version but love it in a two door.

They've taken new measures to minimize torque steer on this D platform.
It is said to be almost non-existent.

That should have been released when the current-gen Altima was introduced a few years back... WTF took them so long?? The lines on the sedan are basically screaming for two doors, not four. Same deal as the retarded G35 sedan (yes, I know that all Skylines start life as a sedan, but this was particularly bad IMHO).

the G35 looks way better as a sedan than as a coupe.
