So why was there a flag if there was no foul? It didn't just fall out of his pocket. He looked at Gronk getting draped, threw a flag, and then... no foul?

I love watching the Patriots lose just as much as the next guy but don't understand that at all.

He threw it because it looked like PI, but the other refs conferred that it wouldn't have been catchable by Gronk, had there been no interference.

That is why they picked up the flag. Had the ball been closer to Gronk, it would have been PI.
