Chiefs just aren't getting to Manning, or weren't during the course of this game. They did a good job holding him, but with 0 sacks, they just aren't getting it done. Their offense isn't doing them any favors.

Yeah their pass rush has gone to total dogshit the last several games, and they seemingly didn't do anything to address that. I don't know what happened to Hali and Houston but they have only been able to start generating pressure when they overload one side and I saw them do that I think once this game.

The Chefs are who everyone thought they are. Cant hack it against a good club
Really dude?

They didn't blitz, I counted about 4 times. Defense was OK, they held the most potent offense the NFL has ever seen to their lowest points of the season, at home.
Their offense didn't execute, possibly the worst game to not perform. Count the drops. Then there's that god awful fumble in the red zone.
Their special team wasn't anything special.
Despite their possible worst performance thus far, they had a chance to come back, if it wasn't for the unfavorable calls from the refs.

Did you know the Chiefs Defense was the least penalized unit coming into this game? It seems to me that just about every time Denver throws a pass, there was a flag.

Oh, and when Denver committed DPI, it changed to a holding instead. I guess that's better than DPI, right? 5 yards is better than whatever yards the Chiefs offense was going to get.

And, curious enough, when the Chiefs had any momentum going, they were called for iffy offensive holdings when on the opposite side of the ball, Denver's offensive players were mugging anything in sight?

It's alright though, I'm not mad. Just a bit disappointed that they didn't execute. Imagine if they did though.

So they got the target off their back of being a "perfect team", now they can play ball.

We'll see in two weeks when Denver visits Arrowhead. Peyton's uniform was a bit too clean for my liking after this game.

Doesn't matter if you blitz and the ball is gone, PM picked his man to throw to early and when the pass rush arrived the ball was already gone, just good game-planning by the Denver coaching staff.

This wasn't even the worst the Chiefs have played. Their offense has been even worse than this. If Smith isn't doing his best to be mediocre then the receivers are dropping every damn thing. I think they should try to get Davis in more, get him and Charles in at the same time, maybe both lined up on the outside.

But this is about what I expected, and same as they've played all year. Lame duck offense most of the time and tough defense that just couldn't hold up to one of the best offenses ever. We'll see if Arrowhead makes a difference (fuck building in shit to make the camera shake, feel the ground shake from the noise), but they need to get their pass rush back.

They should run Houston and Hali inside more (have them line up behind the 2 DL and let them figure out where to go, shoot inside or outside) or swap DJ or Berry for one of them to give them a breather once in a while and give the offense something different to have to deal with (Berry and DJ both are stellar at shooting gaps and seems whereas Hali and Houston rely on just pushing their way through or being relentless). Do something. Show blitz but not blitz just to give the offense something to hesitate about. Hell I think they might've even done better to have Hali and Houston just jam the TE and slot and then let the 2 DBs that normally would be man up on them have a buffer to read the play. They might be able to jump some of the pick routes and stuff that the Broncos did then, and it'd throw an extra wrinkle for their offense to have to guess on.

He played a good chunk of the first half and they don't need him atm. He's been a fragile dude in the past, so why risk anything?

That guy is just a beast. I love smashmouth football and that is how he plays.

KC never had a chance last night. They looked star struck in the first couple series and their D Line never even smelled manning in the first quarter. Sucks because I was looking forward to a good game. I do give KC credit for keeping Denver from scoring a million points but that doesn't get counted come playoff time.

Even if KC beats Denver in 2 weeks, they made themselves look bad last night. I don't think anyone out there will even debate them being the best team any more. Reid and Smith need to get their shit together or they may be sitting at home come January.

Whooo Steelers not completely incompetent!

And Chiefs/Broncos went about as expected imo. I think their true test will be in two weeks to see if they can at least split the series with Denver when it's in KC.

I do give the Steelers offensive line a lot of credit in stopping our pass-rush...we looked very pedestrian upfront, but I blame the Lions mostly because, as Tomlin said, they didn't do anything different covering Calvin, and the Lions simply didn't go to him.

We really only played on quarter, and lol @ Gym Shorts saying "we ain't scared" because you tried to catch them napping on a fake FG, which turned out to be the game-losing play, ultimately.

The call itself wasn't a stupid call, it was just unnecessary. Take the 3, got up by 7...force the Steelers to pass down the field and at best, they'd tie the game.

We should've had that game.

Giants game ended just in time for me to watch SF squander all the gifts that NO gave them. Wonderful to watch Kaep stutter-step his way to an almost 1st down.

I was a bit surprised SF basically handed NO the game. At this rate, they might not make it into the playoffs. Carolina is playing much better and they aren't going to topple Seattle. You've got Carolina in an extremely weak division (except for NO) and you have the NFC North all tied and fighting. SF better step it up, otherwise they aren't making it. Yes, they are only 6 and 4, but the only good team they've beaten is GB.

The Niners have a relatively easy schedule down the stretch. If they lose any game other than the Seattle game then they deserve to miss the playoffs.

I like how people are suddenly on Kansas City as the best team in the league. Who had that as a potential storyline before the season started? Granted, it's a silly comparison at the moment, as the Chiefs defense, while very good, is hardly "otherworldly," whereas the Broncos are on pace to break several offensive records; if they continue at this rate, they'll be the unquestioned best offense in NFL history by any available metric.

I'm glad the Broncos won last night or that would have come off looking really stupid. As it stands, the Broncos are still on pace to break some NFL records for offense, and the Chiefs, while still a great defensive team, are not going down as one of the best defenses in NFL history; they aren't even leading the league in defense this year. That old standby throwaway line that announcers love so much, "Defense wins championships" needs to be retired; it no longer applies to this league as rules are updated to encourage high-powered offenses.

I still don't like Peyton in December/January in an outdoor stadium when it's freezing. That's never been his strong suit, and it could spell real problems for him in the playoffs (like it did last year).

My son will kill me; but Green Bay has not been showing that they are a good team. Mediocre this year (5-5). They have beat only one team (Lions) with a winning record

yeah, GB looking pretty shabby right now, and with the Lions and Bears, I don't think GB is making the playoffs.

The Bears impress me, because with their injuries, it seems that they are playing above their level right now.

Defense is overrated now. We are in the era of having 4 HoF QBs playing at once, with some HoF RBs and WRs. We've got Rodgers, Manning, Brees, Brady, Peterson, Megatron... Defense can't possibly be expected to stop all that.

At the start of the season, I'd say they were in place to be a great team. And with how well Lacey has been running, they have the pieces. They have been devastated by injuries though, and losing Rodgers basically forfeits all games until he gets back.

Rogers is their Peyton. Without him, they are going to struggle very badly. Then they lose their backup too?

I guess if you are in MN or WI, you have to keep 14 QB's on the payroll. They go through them like I go through socks.

Don't forget that they keep changing the rules to make it more favorable to quarterbacks. Now if you so much as make eye contact with a pro-bowl quarterback from the sidelines, it's a penalty.
