I mentioned a week ago or so that I would put up pictures of the 2007FPW when mine came in and whether or not I was going to stick with it. Yeah, I decided to stick with it - I love this display! Anyway, here are a few photos of it set up and everything. If anybody wants more images, just let me know and I'll snap a few more. Enjoy :)

As far as functionality and aesthetics go, it has passed all my tests. As I've mentioned in a few other posts before, there is a VERY tiny tiny bit of banding in large gradient images. But even Apple Cinema Displays have more than what I've seen with this LCD. I'm a graphic designer so image quality and color is extremely important to me, as well as contrast ratio. I also play a lot of games (first person shooters mostly, you know), so obviously I'd like to have something that didn't ghost frames - no issues with that at all. I've tested it out with Oblivion, HL2/CSS/DOD and Quake 4; I'm happy to say this even improves upon how my old 19" Dell P991 CRT performed. Now it's time to start looking around for a good deal on a Spyder 2 calibrator...

Physically, the LCD looks excellent. They finally got rid of the old 2005FP/FPW-style "ring" base thing. It didn't look terrible, but this new "wide foot" look definitely makes it look a bit more sophisticated. The PBP and PIP features are awesome, though I haven't used them yet (probably never will). The panel slides up and down nicely, while the base is heavy and sturdy -- makes me feel that it's very secure and not easy to knock over or something (I've got some rowdy drunk friends over sometimes, heh). The OSD is awesome. Very clean and easily understandable, as well. I hope somebody finds this helpful, and feel free to ask any questions!

I like your setup. Glad to see it sounds like a nice monitor. Certainly looks nice in the pics.

Also, thanks for pointing out it is height-adjustable. I had read something about the new Dell's not being able to, and looking at the stand I couldn't figure out how they would be, but now I see (slides up and down on the black "block").

Sounds and looks great!

I'm saving up for one of these bad boys :D. What's the native resolution?

What features do they have over the 2005FPW? Different panel? Better contrast ratio and brightness maybe? Also, is it HDCP compatible?

Looks damn nice. With coupons its fairly cheap... I thought it'd launch quite a bit higher like the 2005 was.

And yes, nicer-looking stand. I was thinking though... does it attach the same in the back to the stand as the 2005?? That'd be cool to somehow get that stand and use it in place of the 2005fpw stand/base.

edit: Damn, nevermind, didn't see that picture showing the attachment. It's different :(
