*** 2007 World Series Thread***

Tough call between the BoSox and the Indians. Both teams are fairly evenly matched (with the BoSox having the edge in hitting with the Ortiz/Ramirez combo)... and the Sox already blew through the Indians' two aces. Then again, the series is 1-2... I'm rooting for the Indians.

I'm surprised by how well the Rockies are doing. A lot of the people I talked to predicted Indians-Diamondbacks or BoSox-Diamondbacks...

I've predicted a Rockies - RedSox WS since the start of the NLDS.

I may be wrong about the Sox though 😛

yea looking iffy for us right now
tho i predict the series will go to 3-2 and back to Fenway, IMO doesnt really matter who its 3-2 in favor of, Sox are hard to beat at home

i figured this series would go at least 6 games anyway

The big question for Red Sox fans now is whether Tito starts Beckett on 3 days rest and have him on full rest for a potential game 7. Beckett has won a WS game on 3 days rest but that was in 2003. Big decision to keep Wakefield in.

Nice job by the Rockies. I don't think the rest will hurt them. They seem like such a positive group that they probably think nothing can stop them. Total confidence.

I'm wondering what fire got lit under the Rockies ass...was watching ESPN this morning. Just amazing is all I can say. I honestly don't think either team in the AL will be able to take them the way they're playing.

im still waiting for holliday to tag home plate!

and for anyone telling me to get over it, the way the phillies and d-backs rolled over san diego could've been in the dance and had the pitching to actually show up! but if theres a team i want to win, i hope its colorado because im still a little bitter over being called the nl worst a couple of seasons back. yeah, i hold grudges.

hopefully Cleveland will get there.

Open Letter to all those living in Boston/NY: the rest of the country doesn't give a rat's ass about your teams. Thank god we have a chance of seeing someone else, perhaps more interesting play for a title.

Kind of obnoxious how the ALCS in on Fox, whereas the NLCS is relagated to TBS. I'm sure had they known that it would be Cleveland instead of NY, though, it would have been stuck on cable.

pulling for the Rockies all the way.

Whoever it is, I think they are going to run into a buzzsaw w/ the Rockies.
They are acting like the team of destiny this year.

what was it Schlereth said on ESPN the other day? "the only team that can beat the patriots right now is the rockies". something like that. the rockies are insane. 21 of 22? ridiculous.

<--born in denver, and lovin' this.

I guess I'm superstitious or something but I just read this touching Denver Post Article from 2 days ago that may partly explain why they're doing so well:

Remarkable Rockies' magic number is "64"

Funny that the Rockies scored 6 runs in the 4th and won last night's game 6-4. 🙂

I don't think the Rockies can keep it up against either the Indians or the Sox. Plus, the days off they have until the WS will only hurt them.

Or, at least that's what conventional wisdom says.

Conventional wisdom also says that you don't win 21 of 22 or 7 straight postseason games, but that didn't stop them.

thankfully I jumped on the Rockies bandwagon (Rangers fan, yuck) in the 9th inning of the one game playoff so I have a pretty decent seat.

For the sake of an interesting W.S. I hope the Bo-Sox make it. Cleveland vs. Colorado = snore...

... Either that or I'm just sore Yankee fan 😛

Even if he didn't, the game was still tied at that point, and they probably would have won it the next inning.

I hear the weather may be an issue tonight. Weather.com has a 30% chance of rain. Anyone in cleveland here who can shed some light on the weather? If the game is called that means Beckett can pitch tomorrow and a potential game 7. That would be huge for the Red Sox. I'm sure Wedge is praying to the gods that the weather is perfect tonight.
