2007 Impreza WRX STi (Limited) - Subaru finally gets a clue

There's aftermarket bumpers that get rid of the grill for those that think it's ugly but it has grown on me to be honest.

The only think I don't like is that it reminds me of this years WRC car and how much it has sucked 🙁

Always liked the performance of the STi, but hated the huge spoiler and huge gold brakes.

Didn't the older STi have 300HP? Why does the "special edition" have less HP? Does it have to do with the new SAE HP rating system?

What will be MSRP...$35,000?

Probably at least that, but at least it doesn't look like a 17 year old's wet dream.

Viper GTS

It's not a lexus. It was born and bred on the rally circuit and should remain there. Huge ass spoiler, big fender flares and huge hood scoop to boot. Let it never forget its roots.

i agree. i can't see the pic the OP linked cause flash 8 can't install on the laptop i'm using (minimum CPU requirement is 800MHz...i'm at around 133-166 i believe). i hope it looks good cause i wouldn't mind test driving it

still has the fugly hood scoop

Agreed. A modern compact car just doesn't look good with a hood scoop that sticks out like that. They should take a lesson from ferrari for nicely designed hood scoops.

i'm pretty sure they can't cool the TMIC with a ferrari-style scoop... they need the scoop to have a lot of area to allow air to flow, whereas the ferrari one is more for looks. and i think they did their best to try and keep it as low and wide as possible to not interfere with the driver's view, while being based on the hood already in production for the non-turbo models.

but that grille design is definitely puke-tastic. they finally got it right with the 2003 revision and here they go again.

100% agree. Sadly, looking at this, I think they forgot to do just that. Now it almost looks nothing more than a regular wrx with a STI badge.

the impreza has got uglier every gneration for the past few gens. I loved the big fog light WRX wagons 2 gens ago. last gen was ok but not as nice as last. now there just fugly

I like it, I think, but I'd rather buy a Legacy GT Limited and spend the change on making the LGT handle as well as a stock STi, with the same performance too.

Only 800 being produced? Can we say unavailable and dealer markup?

Yeah no kidding... I wouldn't say that Subaru has gotten anything "right" with this car. Why they don't make a coupe STi that doesn't look like ass is beyond me. Don't they know how many of those they'd sell?

A STi coupe would trounce the 350z, S2000, and a whole bunch of other "sports" cars in the same price range.

EDIT: What I mean is that if they made a coupe, they would catch all the buyers who, no matter the performance numbers, don't consider any sedan to be a sports car.

I know the M5 and current STi and Evo go against that, but there's something to be said for a nice 2-seater.

Make 4-door and coupe STi's and Subaru would DOMINATE the under $40k sports car scene.

Oh how I wish they'd make 2 door versions again.

Upscale... ehhh doesn't seem right for a Subaru. Everything that they are doing lately makes me want to hold on to my 02 wrx wagon for even longer.
