2007 Chrysler Aspen

Well Ford does plenty of badge engineering itself. The Big 3 needs to die to get rid of it entirely.

hahaha wtf. i hope they don't make it ugh. durango's nice enough.

it's kind of ironic that I had to click on the hyundai concept pics on the same page to "rinse my eyes" from looking @ that chrysler disaster, heh.

I think it looks better than the Durango, and why spend a ton of money to reinvent the wheel right now when they just want to put out an SUV. They can put more money into a different design if it sells well.

But still no Chrysler 300 version of the Magnum?

They have it, just not in the US. Its the 300C touring version overseas. I've actually driven one and with a Hemi it just hauls.

is the mercedes R wagon a pacifica? if so, i'd say that's worse. a chrysler has always been a dodge with better leather.

Wrong brand... It's a rebadged Durango.

WTF, that thing is way to 'bubbly'. Its like they made the SUV version of the Chrysler 300 but sucked the soul out of it and left just an empty shell. Now if that thing was a bit 'edgier' and bold like the 300, damn they'd sell like hotcakes and steal sales from the Escalade.

It IS the durango

What is Chrysler thinking with those stupid front bumpers? It makes any truck/SUV look like Bubba from Forest Gump. Or maybe it looks like a pouting three year old... I can't decide.

BTW... Interesting that they would revive a name (Aspen) from the 70's that was one of the worst vehicles ever produced in the US. Will Volare be resurrected as well? 😛

You mean how the Maxima is an Inifinity whatever? The Z is a G35? The Pathfinder is a QX? How an Acura RSX/RL/RX/FU/Whatever is a Honda Accord/Prelude? How half of the Lexus cars are just Toyotas?

I really could go on and on.

Idiots really shouldn't open their mouth sometimes.

1) With a few rare exceptions, the Japanse platform share rather than badge engineer. There are only a few blatant badge engineered vehicles (Land Cruiser/LX470, Armada/QX56).

2) The 350Z and G35 are platform cousins. The G35 coupe actually has a longer wheelbase than the 350Z and they share no body/interior panels.

3) The same platform used on the G35 and 350Z (FM) is also used in varying states of tune on the M35/M45 and the FX35/FX45. However, each are completely different vehicles.

4) Toyota's Camry platform forms the basis of a multitude of vehicles:

Avalon
Camry Solara
Sienna
Highlander
RX330
ES330

Yet each has a completely different interior/exterior and trim.

5) The new Lexus IS, GS and LS have no Toyota counterparts anywhere in the world.

6) None Acura's vehicles (in the US at least) are badge engineered versions of their American Honda counterparts.
