So horse racings 3rd leg of the triple crown goes off today. No street Sense. Only 7 horses. Without the chance of a triple crown winner seems like hardly anyone cares about this one. I still do though as theres two really great horses in the race - Curlin and Hard Spun. Hard Spun has got to be feeling pretty bad after not being there the last two races. Curlin just seems by and far the superhorse that should've won the derby if not fot getting stuck.

I picked Curlin in the preakness thread, and I thought about picking him today. But then Tiago entered back in. He was my pick for the derby, and was fallowing street sense in the derby right behind him, just to get held up on the rail when street sense jumped out. He's been off for a month now (something a horse cn use after a race liek the derby) and has been working at distance (6f, 1M) - something which the others havent.

So heres the race as i see it : The first call see hard spun and slews tizzy in the front, with curlin in the middle and tiago bringing up the rear. it stays the same till about 1 mile in tiago will make his move along with curlin, hard spun will still be in the lead, imawildandcrazyguy will be moving hard too, and CPWest will be moving hard as well. the last half mile will be a battle between 3 horses Curlin, Tiago, and CPWest. the last 100 yds tiago will pull away with curlin and we shall have another photo finish. Tiago by a neck. Curlin Second. CPWest third.
Just a prediciton - this is not to be used for betting purposes or taken seriously at all :D

Enjoy the race!

p.s. My horse Rubiano's Flag is in the 7th race at Yavapai this weekend. He's won his last two by 4 and 7 lengths (cheap claiming races) and now moving up a step in class. Wish me luck!

I'm giving this thread a bump, since Spidey07 seems to be missing today. Maybe he's at the track, or losing a ton of money at the OTB booth :)

Just got back from golf!

Game on!

I like the call Drakkon. my money is on imawildandcrazy guy. plus a 3 way exacta on all the longs. I don't think curling has the juice. tomlinson numbers by order - hard spun, tiago, rags to riches (WTF filly?)

my call - imawild lays back and gobbles them up in the stretch.

!!!!!!!!!!!!Drakkon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck in your class bump.

I wouldn't say owned. Curlin appears to be the real deal to be able to run all three racess well and get in the money in all three. No super horse, but a darn good one.

What a great day; went over there this afternoon and got there in time for the 6th race. Belmont really outdid themselves this year with 13 races on the card and multiple graded stakes races. Made for a very exciting time.

Oh and congrats to Mr. Pletcher for finally becoming one of the big boys!!!

I also made it out to Belmont today - I have never been there. It is a nice track, but I prefer Saratoga. Through a friend I was able to get a nice grand stand seat and was right at the finish line watching the action.

Sadly, I didn't cash anything. Hard Spun let me down, and the horse Edgar Prado was riding in race 10 (right before the Stakes) also let me down by running out of gas in the stretch.
