While I love my TL, the LAST thing it needs is more power. In first gear, it torque steers so bad it can rip the wheel out of your hand. Please, please, make an AWD version. The car would seriously be untouchable if it was AWD and stayed comparably priced.

Impressive.

And for folks arguing against FWD. Drive the manual of the TL. Very, very little torque steer - almost non-existent.

oh - and IMHO, it needed more power.

That's odd my 6spd torques steers like crazy on full throttle in 1st. Perhaps you're just used to it?

could be. mines' an 04 and has a LSD. I assumed they kept that in other model years.

then again I'm only in 1st gear for like a second or two. 😉

Mine's an 06, and yes it does have the LSD. I'm also used to my 330whp STi that has no torque steer, so I really notice it in the TL. Going between cars is quite a jump.

Looks okay to me.

I was never an Acura kinda guy.

AWD ftw. I'd much prefer a Subaru... like a forester or something. Those new Subarus are lookin hot IMO.

Hmmm.... I like the TL but I really don't care for either of those new tail light treatments in the linked pics. The old ones were a bit bland but those look cheap.

Agreed. The whole setup looks like a cheap aftermarket setup that an 18 year old with too much money to blow would do to the thing.

I thought the same thing about the pretty lame $5,000 "A-Spec" package they offered. Minor upgrades...Major money.

For the $, I'd stick with the base.

If for nothing else, hopefully this drives down the value of used '05 models a bit so they are bit more reasonable for me to consider one 🙂

Stop trying to defend FWD cars.

WHY? Unless you own one and think it is a sport car I see no reason for you to defend it.

/edit I need to start reading the whole thread.

then why would anyone buy the RL?

it'd be like the previous generation where the big fat RL had a wimpy underpowered motor, and the TL had the better motor and styling.

lol target market is a male in his 40s with an income of $100,000 or more?

More like young male 18-35 with an income of $0-$75k.

the LSD juggling power from side to side is probably what people are experiencing when they talk about the TL's "torque steer." be happy, that wiggling is helping you go faster.

no 6-speed for the S, though? a travesty.
