CSX because to be frank there is something akin to just killing yourself when you buy a brand new econobox. The amount of money they cost can get a much, much nicer car just a couple of years older. With a new econobox you get to lose all that money in new car appreciation and you're stuck with a soulless, banal thing for years to come.

Indeed this is true, this is how we got our old 00 I30 and 96 I30t, best used market is for V6 Family sized sedans but that is exactly what we are trying to avoid here unfortunately.
G35's and Maximas are goin for incredible deals (steals actually) and I would definitley like one but that would get troublesome for my sister and mother to drive. 06 Accord SE 4cyl is the biggest player for me if we decide for large car.

With some digging I think we can find some 06 Civic LX for 16k. They hold their value so well though causing used prices to be inflated unless you buy a worn one like we did with our current.

We have pretty much decided on 2009 Civic or going used 2006-current Civc LX or EX-L, Accord SE 4Cyl

How would the accord fare in handling and stopping vs the Civic? I don't want to end up with a boat like the I30 was

We found a 2007 Accord EX-L 4 Cylinder for $21000 used and we told the guy we want it. Should be ours by next week.

It has Navigation! Destroys all the nasty unclean Civics we have seen for 19-20k.. This car was incredibly clean

The civics are nice, but I've found that corollas feel a little cramped to me. You may want to check out an elantra/sonata or maybe even a cobalt/malibu.

sedan and auto yes

it had pretty high km (70k) but it was well worth it for the condition and trim it is (1.5 hour drive to Barrie was worth it!)

the car is now sitting at home

no aux input, so i will probably buy the usa spec adaptor
turns out it has 8% tint which is wayy too risky here so we are probably going to remove that from the front windows

21K? I'm sorry, but you're getting taken if you buy that. The 07 looks like crap compared to the 08 redesign. You should be able to negotiate based on that fact alone. On top of that, its a four cylinder. How many miles are on it? Is this from a dealer or private? You should be able to find one in the 15-18K range. Just my $.02.

what country do i live in ? i live in Canada not the US

2008/2009 accord 4cyl LOWEST trim goes for ~28 with freight
this car is much better trim and personally my entire family likes the 2006/7 more than the 08/09

I already mentioned the mileage..

We have definitely done our research over the past 4 months within Ontario

Bought the Aux cable (USA Spec) from Crutchfield and installed it today

It was a pain getting the harness to fit behind the nav but it works now :) I am happy with the install and all that is left is drilling the hole in the center console to feed the wire through, then i can put all the pieces back together

does the usa spec adapter emulate cd-changer or XM? if the car has xm built into the head unit, you could have gotten artist/title display with a different head unit...

Your Maxima gets like 18/25mpg, about the same as an SUV. Same with every one of those powerful sedans. An econobox carries you just as comfortably, but at 50% more miles per gallon, and most of the time you aren't using more than 40hp

Comes up as CD-C so that would be the changer
I'd rather keep the navigation and A/C controls so a new deck was not a option at this time

I know about my old cars mileage. We've sold the I30.
This Accord is a great compromise between an almost luxury car and a efficient car (for our needs).

I am getting normally 30MPG with about a split of 60% Highway (@80mph) and 40% City (~38mph). The Civic would previously do the same driving style + distance at about 32MPG.

yep. The 4 cyl. accord is a well rounded beast. It has all the luxury ameneties that i need, and for what you pay for it, it can't be beaten

Which is the one you've got again?
