I like it. J Mays is bringing good things to Ford (as I predicted he would). Now if only they could get a better midsized powerplant...

I gotta question the lack of a "real V6" in that car. It's the Taurus replacement which competes against the Accord, Camry, and Altima, and it has 30 less HP than it's competitors. (4 cylinder the same as it's competitors 'cept for the Nissan)

Overall I like the look of the car - the interior looks good, although that damn double din head unit looks out of place. Why GM/Ford/DCX can't make a HU that flows seamlessly with the car even in frickin' 2005, I don't know.

But if you want to replace the head unit it may come in handy to have it as double din instead of some customized integrated setup. As far as V6, it is a real v6. It's output is what one would expect from a 3L V6.

I agree about the replacement thing - I just hate how it stands out like a sore thumb. (In my 04 Accord you have to replace the cubby bin below the integrated AC/radio unit)

In terms of the V6 - the Honda 3.0 is making 240. The Nissan 3.5 is making 240, and then 270 in that special version (SE-R?????). Even boring Toyota is pumping out like 230-240. I guess you can't expect a "better" V6 from Ford when their flagship sedan (500) doesn't even have a more powerful V6. Even if the rest of the car is absolutely superb (which I highly doubt it will be) - the lackluster V6 will stand out like a sore thumb and will be reflected by every review and comparison the Fusion is ever and will ever be in.
