2006 Dodge Charger Police Car

NFS4

No Lifer
I've got some good news and some bad news, depending on your propensity to break the law.

The good people of America will be glad to know that the ancient Ford Police Interceptor is no longer the only "proper" police car on the market. Pretty soon, police departments will be able to trade in their archaic body-on-frame Fords with their underpowered 250-hp 4.6-liter V-8s for the new Dodge Charger squad car, which is considerably faster, better handling, more efficient, and safer.

For criminally minded individuals, however, this is apocalyptic. It means that the police will be able to respond faster and will be more difficult to outrun on the highway or elude on city streets. When the inevitable occurs, lowlifes will find the rear compartment isn't air-conditioned or heated and it's not awfully comfortable either, especially with a set of cuffs on. The only bright spot for perps is that it should get you to the station faster than ever, and if it happens to be a HEMI-powered model, it'll make a pleasing V-8 rasp along the way.

I wonder if its the R/T or the SRT 8 or the base model they work from...either way i think they look hella intimidating and make a good cop car 🙂

Hamilton, Ontario cops already have them. I kinda just shudder as I hear them pass, with that V8 rumble, realizing they could chase your butt down no matter what now.

AAAAH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!

My mini cooper special had a 1.3 and pushed out 110Hp. The engine was originally designed in the 50's (mmm... push-rods) and was naturally aspirated.

This is why jeremy Clarckson rips into american engineering.

Well it also manages to put out 275 ft/lbs of torque and allows a 4000 pound land barge to pull 25MPG on the highway. Try doing that with your 1.3L.

R/T = 340hp. SRT8s are about $10K more. I wonder how much more weight the police package adds to it's stock 4,100+ lbs.

ooooo, now I get to watch people slowdown as I come up to them

The station here in Brentwood, TN has one, it's impressive.

Edit: Wait, I see someone has posted a picture. That station is across the street from my work.

Now all we need is a picture of a perp getting cuffed up against one with "PWNED" across the top.

I talked to some cops at a resturant the other night. They said they hate the charger. More blind spots. I think he said theirs had a V6

There have been Magnum and Charger PD models for a while now, the first batch were given to the Auburn Hills PD for field testing.
