2006 Chevrolet Impala

looks like a nice design, but we all know gm will screw it up w/ either suspension, engine or terrible fit/finish

No. Never. My mom had a 1996 Impala SS. V8 LT1 Corvette engine. Borla stainless catback dual exhaust. All together, 370hp. Rear-wheel drive. Full-size sedan with amazing pep. These new Impalas are nothing. We sold this car with 95k miles on it, in 2004, for 18,000. We paid 19,000 for it in 1998.

Even though they claim to offer the high-performance upgrades, it will never have the cult following the 1996 model got (it has floor shifter and tachometer, other years have tree-shifter and no tach).

Edit: No high-performance models.

2006 Chevrolet Impala : Chevy will be the first GM brand to get an all-new replacement for its W-bodied sedan, the Impala, which shares its platform with the Pontiac Grand Prix and Buick LaCrosse. Despite prior speculation to the contrary, the Impala remains a front-drive car with V-6 engines.

I think the headlights look like ass, and I like the current-gen much better.

I like the gen before current gen. Although if I could get a current gen, all black, nice rims, etc with a V8 405hp crate from Chevy, I'd do that. It would cost ... $15,000 above MSRP.

It looks kinda like the Lumina based Monte Carlo. I like it though, no giant chrome swoosh thingy on the front like the Malibu.
If it has a 3.8 and a manual transmission I would get one 🙂

I see hints of a tauras/maxima/audi in there.
Not bad overall... but not good (no distinguishing personality)

That's some sissy sh|t right there, give us the V8 SS model!

They need to bring the reto muscle car look back like Ford did with the new mustang. That car in no way to speaks to me as a mean, fast ride.
And while they are at it drop the computer bs controlling the engine, trans, and brakes. I mean with the technology we have today I am certin they can produce a carb that gets better fuel economy then fuel injection. The ONLY reason that they wont is because it makes it so the average Joe can no longer work on his own car and forces you to either take it to the dealership and get it fixed or pitch it.
Years from now when all the older cars are gone and we are left with these computer controlled high dollar matenance vechiles left the economy is going to topple because poor and lower middle clase that buys the odercars will not be able to afford to fix or replace parts on the because the replacements will cost to much and wont have the funds to get something like this repaired.

Its all going to go to hell in 10-15 years mark my words.

Looks...actually.....rather....nice... 😕
IB GM decides at the last minute to put plastic cladding all over it to save money on painting it.

2007 RWD Camaro....

hmm.. I like the current gen look better. The look of this newer one looks softer and pussier IMO.

and is it me, or when I saw it i thought "oh look a longer civic..?"
😕

huh...I don't know what I quite think of it, but the headlights remind me of a civic. still a V6 though, eh? at least give it some performance versions like the Grand Prix GXP or something.
