Well looks like it's not a fwd-till-slip AWD system eh NFS4? :p

but how is this different from other AWD systems? The ATTESA-ETS system used by Nissan employs the same type of methodology in their AWD system.

Good to see Honda come out wiht it though, who knows wat kind of cool sh!t they can do once this AWD system streams down into lower-prcied sport cars :)

well active center diffs are nothing new, (although it appears that in Honda's case, they put their "center" diff in the rear diff and not in the tranny case)

active rear diffs are nothing new (evo's in Japan have active rear and center diffs)

However that acceleration device thing looks interesting!

If it was April fools, the head line would be something like "Honda anounce it's production of a Turbo Sports Compact car..>"

My same thoughts
i doubt it is... :) maybe from those TOV people...
Seems legit. Technically it seems like two mildly adapted ATTS (automatic torque transfer system) differentials incorporated into a single casing, one ATTS differential for F/R split and the other for left/right split. ATTS was in Preludes a few years ago to counter the FWD tendency to understeer by sending more torque to the outside drive wheel during cornering before slippage occured.

Looks nice. The big question is price.
If it's so expensive that only old people can afford it, it's not going to sell.
The styling is too radical for older demographic, and it's not a V8.
Also, I can still see Accord in it, which is pretty ghey.

Or "Honda announces production of mass-market V8 engine".

Well, it is on Honda Japan's website, so all i gotta say is I hope the Japanese don't have an april fools tradition and that Honda doesn't do that sort of stuff. :Q

Umm you know ATTESA cars are RWD as the base drivetrain right?

Too bad the RL is a joke. No one in their right mind would pay $50k for a Japanese v6 when they could get a german v8 for their money...

Front looks great. Back reminds me of the Accord Coupe... but it looks hot regardless. Please don't let this be an April Fools... I want to see that system on a few other Acura's or Honda products. =D

YAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWN. V6 power still. I'll take V8 power and either a new GS430 or one of the new M45's.

Yeah, it'd be nice to be able to actually give it some gas without wrecking into a curb.

To whom are they gonna market this car to? The acceleration device is cool, but it assumes that most owners will hit the mythical twisties. The flagship should focus on straight line power and luxury. Unless the RL is going after the 5series/GS/M

Seriously, why does the side profile look like Accord sedan?
As far as V8, the only way Honda will offer 8 cylinders in a car is if they stick 2 I4's under the hood :D
I think 2006 M45 will own the RL, and ownage will continue until Honda wakes up and stops marketing Accords in 5-series market.
