What I'm saying is that for the price tag, I want a little more umph. If I wanted to save money, I could get a Corvette Z06, and be more powerful than a lot of porche's.
Having a porsche is more than having just pure speed. You have one of the most well built cars on the road. Plus I don't think anything touches on their styling.
Every current porsche has more than enough speed than I'll ever want/need.

The 959 was a technology showcase, but not really an "exotic." Afterall, it was a tricked out 911 with a sophisticated AWD system, aerodynamics and powertrain. What makes people think that it was an exotic was the fact that it wasn't legal here in the US and they aren't seen very much here.
The 993 Turbo was about as close as Americans came to seeing a street legal 959.
