Build quality (in your definition of it) means nothing to me if the materials feels like crap.

So you'd rather have an unreliable car with nice interior materials (i.e. Audi) over a rock-solid one with a cheapish dash (G35)?

My point is, I want the whole package 😀 Which is why I like Toyotas/Lexus for the most part.

Toyota/Lexus is lacking in fun factor and sportiness.

I'd go for the G35 for price/performance.

What about the IS300 5-speed? Mmmmmmmm 😛

but isn't the IS300 known for crappy interior materials?

I personally think its fine (but most car mags and dash strokers don't).

Any truth to that NSF4?

Heard the same and seen a few internet articles on it.

It would totally ruin the handling dynamics of the car.
Having a heavy V8 in the front would cause massive understeer which is a no-no if you want a car to turn nice.

Handles, but lacking in power.

That's what TRD is for 😀

Bah, TRD really doesn't do too much for this engine since the "normal" Altezza is a 2.0L car. We're lucky to have the 3L inline 6. Heck, it's the NA verison of the engine in the Supra MkIV's.
But they have plenty of parts for the turbo version... and who says you can't turbo it. 🙂

as a bmw owner, i voted for the g35. if yer comparing 325 vs g35. it really depends on your taste, if speed is your thing, are you still reading this?? go out and get a g35. if you want the complete driving experience sans the nice boost in power, 325 the car for you. g35 is a freakin rocket, with some luxury components to it, sure the interior is a bit.. erm cheap, but how else do you make a sweet entry luxury ride for under 30k? no one said it was perfect.

as for the bimmers, there is a reason why they commend a premium while still not standardizing leather, it's a freakin 1450 option on a 30k+ ride! and the motto for bmw is the ultimate driving machine, not the fasted to 60mile mark machine. complete driving experience makes bimmers commend their premium price. altho w/ the 325, it's for those "trying to look rich" bah whatever!! anyway, the specs for the 325 sort of take the car out of the g35's perf class.

if you read any perf reviews, the editors are partial, very partial to the price advantage the g35 brings to the table. and seems every verdict that goes for g35 or even those that puts g35 right behind 330i comes w/ a caveat while bmw is a better driving machine, it is hard to over look the price advantage first place of this camparo goes to g35, or despite being handicapped by the price disadvantage bmw still is the king of the hill. g35 is prob the best attempt at shooting down the bimmer and i give props to them, even if i like 330i pp better than it ^^ yea for a cool 10k more.. 🙁

If you want a GREAT TV, buy one from Asia. If you want a GREAT car, buy one from Europe. Japanese cars have not, and will never surpass European cars. The whole Japanese design concept is off.

BMW, hands down. It's the ultimate driving machine.

If price was the same, it would be a tough decision between power versus overall comfort and interior, but with $6000 difference, G35 no doubt. My friend bought a 325i, and that engine has a good amount of punch, though not near same as G35, and interior is great.

You're an idiot - who makes the kind of claim that all European cars are great? You're nothing but a badge whore, admit it.

so true ^^;;

I drive an Acura 3.2 TL S as my daily driver... I drove a BMW 540i before I bought... And it ruined me. The Acura in no way compares to the BMW... none. But when you're looking at a price difference of 20-25k, you make compromises. I already have a sports car (truck) that I drive for fun, so I went cheap.

The interior quality of the japenese cars is just awful. It's plasticy crap. Go sit in a Volvo or BMW, see how everything is wrapped in leather, and the doors have padded leather on them... That's luxury.

It may be nice, but it's still a Honda.

And it's exterior quality meets or exceeds most american saturns. 😀
Besides, does it go any faster or handle any better than the 03 TL? And is it RWD? (the biggest flaw of the TL)

I take it you haven't read any of the reviews that are out for the vehicle. How can you make such asinine assumptions about a vehicle that you know nothing about?
