About 8 months ago I purchased my eclipse from a dealership with about 110,000 miles on it. The car at first seemed in good shape but soon after purchasing, the engine light turned on. During my cars inspection they said that the light was on due to a problem with the evap system and did a smoke test to find that there were no leaks. Not being experts with mitsubishis, they didnt know what the problem was but were sure it wasnt serious and my car was cleared. About two months later(3 months ago)my car began to be hesitant while accelerating. While pressing the gas, the car will suddenly stop and slow down for a second. If i remove my foot from the gas and then press the pedal again, acceleration will resume as normal. About a month after that while i was sitting at a red light my car vibrated abruptly and then stalled. The engines temperature wasnt rediculously high, but it was higher than usual. After a few more stalls at stop signs and red lights, my car experienced its first issue starting up. It wont turn over sometimes and if it does its a slow start. All other parts of the car turn on like my radio, headlights, etc but the engine does not start. Many of the lights on the dashboard will light up, similar to how the car acts in a stall. After a few more tries, the car is usually able to barely start up. Although at first all these things only happened on occasion, they are becoming more frequent and it worries me. My car has been to multipul mechanics and the problems still continue. Because they all deal with the engine losing or not getting power, i am confident they are all caused by the same problem. I love my car and dont want it to be ruined over something stupid, can anyone help me?
