Being the long-time BMW fan that i am, my choice was an easy one. But i doubt i would have picked the Mercedes even if i wasn't biased. Both cars have similar engines, but Z4's exterior simply blows the SLK away.
 
I mean, if I *had* to choose one, it'd be the Z4 (I'd have to overlook the yucky exterior) only because MB's aren't very enthusiastic cars (more subdued).

If you think the Z4 is ugly, you're insane. It looks unique, which is exactly what i like about it.

I, too, could design a car with a bunch of random, uninspired lines, and it'd be unique as well. 🙂
 
The Z4's styling is second-to-none. Looks like you're driving a downmarket Z8 - which is a very, very good thing.

Defintely. Isn't the 350z cheaper too than both of these cars??

I havent been in either new one, but I will tell you I did't feel safe in either of the old cars. I used to drive a Landcruiser at the time, that may have something to do with it.

You can't compare a car that just hit the market with one that has been around some time.
I'll take the Z4 although I wished it had a hardtop
 
Mercedes are cars for old grandpas, and that SLK is considered as b!tch's car here in Switzerland. Z4 for me.

It does indeed look unique, but that doesn't mean it looks good.

both of them are not nice looking.. the SLK is too plain, and the BMW just looks terrible.

the z4 is kind of ugly (a little too angular for my tastes) and the slk isnt much better.

but if i could have either... i choose....z4.
 
For $2k more you can have a base Boxster...
Or for thousands less you can have a Honda S2000.

The 350Z (nice car it is) is not a roadster... but then again... you could say that the Merc isn't really a roadster either.
