2003 Dodge Viper SRT-10

The GTS is definitely more attractive, but the SRT-10 is the better car - In every way.

The GTS is what started my obsession, though, it was the first car that stopped me in my tracks & made me say "Wow."

On a related unrelated note....I find it funny in that article that an $18,000 focus outhandled a $50,000 BMW 🙂

how can you complain a pure muscle car is too loud?

B/C they're a bunch of pu$$ies. When Dodge had the exhausts on the side in the original RT/10, journalists complained it was too loud and not "throaty enough." Then when Dodge went to rear exhausts in '96, they complained that it was not loud enough and the exhaust sounded "flat." Now that they have gone back to the side exhausts, the journalists complain that it is too loud.

I've got four words for them, STFU!

Sweet. Does look different, kinda softer or something, too hard to tell without a side-by-side. I'd accept one as a gift! 🙂

Hmmm I always thaught the Viper looks cool, but the other day I saw one for real the first time and sorry no, they are gross - look cheap and no class at all - perfect for braggers without style, but that's just me

Nobody has ever accused a Viper of having class, it's not supposed to.

It's loud, obnoxious, uncomfortable, ...and fast as hell.

Viper GTS

I actually think they look better in person because contrasted with the rest of the cars on the road they are very low and look fast.

Every owner that responded to our AutoFile survey has plunked down cash for multiple copies of the now 11-year-old car, and most garage more than one.
Gee, that's strange, considering only 1500 Vipers were built for '03 and ALL of them were presold to existing Viper owners (they were given priority).

Nice fact-finding, AutoWeek!

They're polling wrong I agree or that was written badly to convey the true results of the poll. I haven't done one but I'm putting my personal guarantee on the fact that 50%+ of Viper owners in the US have only ONE viper and not two or more.

What the hell are they doing with that car. When it first came out it looked great, with the exaust on the sides. Now it just looks plain. I'll take a Vette Z06 or a Porsche 911 instead. 😉

It was styled by a Toyota designer who penned Corollas and Camrys in the 90's. That's why it looks so sanatized 🙁

Uh, the exhaust is still on the sides.

This is not my idea of sanatized.

that looks schweet. SO depends on the picture.

For one thing, in Motor Trend's supercar shootout, the ZO6 lost to the Viper in braking by a fair margin... nearly ten feet iirc. They mentioned that braking in the Viper was a test of courage more than anything.

Either way, the Viper > ZO6 in terms of performance.
