Is that spoiler stock? I'd want something a little more subtle... otherwise, definitely an incredible car.

Hate to say it, but there really is no reason to buy this over the new Neon SRT-4 :(

The dodge whoops it's ass.

$20,000 :Q

What the hell. Who spends that much on a freakin Protege? Aren't those like $13 base?

That's worse than the Spec V

Yes, but the Neon is a Dodge. Have you recently owned a Chrysler product? For anyone considering the Neon SRT-4, just ensure you buy the extended warranty to protect you until 100,000 miles. Also, ensure that there is a loan car provision in the warranty, because I have a feeling you're going to need it.

The spoiler is alot nicer than the spoiler I've seen in the previews of the car.
Looks wise, a coupe version would look great.

Its a bit overpriced though considering couple of years back when Honda were selling their 160hp coupe SI for $16800.
Also considering the 227hp all wheel drive WRX can be had for a couple of thousands more.

I still don't get the 170 horsepower bit. You'd think they'd push it to 200 from the factory.

Uh, are they really selling that well? I mean all the dealers in my area still have last years models that they were aloted to sell.

Wasn't this out for sale already?

Either way it costs ~$26k here so doubt its gonna be a huge seller. I saw my first 6 a few days ago all covered in snow! :D

They probably don't want the HP rating to be too close to the new 6's engine, as the price range is enough competition already...same price, same company, which car do you go with...

But me likes Mazda still, wonder what this car looks like in person.

20480 for Protege?
Have they completely lost their mind?
170 HP and 160 tq is nothing to write home about.
SE-R gets 175 HP with no turbo.

wtf are you talking about:

The hi-po Protege is priced at $20,480 and will begin arriving in Mazda dealerships in early April

And if I were to buy a car near that range it'd be a SVT Focus...

WRX is a 24,000$ car... the Mazda still out handles it...

Subaru WRX is a very poorly made car much like the SVT Focus.

Looks nice and not too bad for $20,500. The srt4 still spanks the protege's ass till it's read, but then the protege has other things going for it as well. RagingbitchThe mad indian lives in Canada.

all you guys talk is HP...this car isnt made for the strip...this car is made for autox and tracks...this car can handle just as good or better then a Integra Type R. I dont bash FWD until you tried a Integra Type R on the tracks. IMHO this car R0x...
