Wow...my 2000 Mustang is #23 while my wife's Nissan Pathfinder is no where on the list for Georgia.

In 2002, according to the latest report:
· Toyota and Honda models comprised 20 of the top 25 most-stolen vehicles.

thats cause these cars last the longest, period.

And there is a bajillion of them on the road. The parts are very marketable.

yeah but they usually don't even need new parts, just new oil every 2500-3000 miles and they'll just keep runnin'

Not true for Hondas in my opinion. Within my immediately family + my fiance, we have had the following:

'90 Accord: muffler pipe replacement (due to erosion/rust) 3 times in the last 3 years.
'89 Accord: muffler pipe replacement (due to erosion/rust) 2 times in the last 4 years.
'97 Civic: muffler pipe replacement (due to erosion/rust) 2 times in the last 5 years (more acceptable, I guess).

Point is, WTF kind of material are they using for these pipes? What's with the holes after such a short amount of time?! I live in downstate NY, not snowy regions where there's tons of salt that would accelerate the erosion process.

My '95 Isuzu Rodeo just recently had a flex pipe replaced (first time any replacement on the underbody) and it's 7 years old. That's my only complaint about Hondas...

Wow, NJ's completely dominated by Honda products with sprinkling of Toyotas. It'd be just my luck if 95 Eclipses are listed at #26... I'd still be careful of where I park anywho.

Well, if your family+friends drive a lot in the crappy salt of LI, then it's no wonder they lose their pipes/mufflers. Mebbe you wash your car more often? It's prolly alumized steel, so it just rots right through. Road salt is so evil... that being said, I don't drive my car until most of the salt is cleared away... if I do have to, I hose under the car afterward.

23 out of 25 most stolen vehicles in Texas are trucks. Most are newer models. Only one import, #21 1996 Honda Accord LX
